The highest form of knowledge is empathy, for it requires us to suspend our egos and live in another's world. It requires profound, purpose‐larger‐than‐the‐self kind of understanding.

Nice post. Only thing missing here in my view is:

1. a newbie (and people with 12000 posts too, sometimes...) asks a question. For example: How can I get Hauptwerk1 (not vsti) to run in my sequencer.

2. a) there's the type of KVR-people with manymany posts like Jens or Sascha Franck, who answer those questions if they want to. They must have read something like this for thousands of times, and don't think asking questions in a forum about music is a bad thing. In fact, those are the ones that get people running in no time. In fact if someone wanted to waste still more time instead of making music he could easily prove that even the most experienced users here sometimes ask questions like "where's that opchorus, I can't find a link" or so.

b) the usual "f**k of ya moddafogga"-type. He (only on rare occasions a "she" :hihi: ) WAITS for newbie-questions, to shit around. "Get ya a UAD-1 and be amazed"-type, if someone asks for a good free chorus.
"Can't you f**king me use the demos"-type, whereas SOME newbies are NEWbies and NEW to music on a PC. "Ooh I'm better than you all, and my pain is the world doesn't understand, so I'm unsigned, whereas Bono and Phil Collins...."
and so on.
That's the type - not too rare here - you didn't mention, mate. It takes them more time to write their stupidities which some peers thinks of as "intelligent" :hihi: than to answer a question, or to give, like you suggested, a link to the answer you gave someone else before.
After a while they could see for example (would they think about their posts) that they mentioned 398times how stupid all others are, and gave 67 friendly hints, he he...

c) the "I want this KVR as a pro-forum only". They just have to read the titles of the threads, to ignore them. Easy...

The "link"-idea is great, and some do it that way, with some short explanations, I liked that as I was new here.

Back to topic, Hink, lovely post :hihi: , and the John-Cleese-picture from Alex is the first I saw this morning - recently watched some MP-flying-circus-shows again :hihi: , simply funny....

Anyway, back to bad hosts...
