Hey all, I was wondering are there any (good) free filter plug-ins out there that offer step sequencing of the filter paramters i.e. cutoff, rez, etc? And if not what would be the demand for one? I've been thinking of try to make one (in Synthedit for starters so wont appeal to everyone) though my design chops aren't that great. I know there are a few multi effects such as Glitch that can do things like this but I haven't found a dedicated 'box' just for filtering.

You now, I've tried a bunch and for some reason (no pun intended) none of them are as fun to use as I remember the PCF in rebirth being.

Not in one package I think (unless you use Reason!) but e.g. Kjaerhus AutoFilter can be fully automated. So if you feed it sequences from another source (a pattern within FruityLoops or a third-party step sequencer that outputs CC messages) that should do the trick.

Pretty easy to make one in Synthedit or any modular that can be used as an effect (try KarmaFX Synth, has great step modulators). There are also several filters about that respond to MIDI notes, which would be the same effect only sequenced elsewhere.

What if you were to offer an interface for other filters {or combinations}? Load your plugin, tell it to run bigwizbang compressor in such and such a way at such and such times and apply it in such and such manner...Polite Company wrote:Hey all, I was wondering are there any (good) free filter plug-ins out there that offer step sequencing of the filter paramters i.e. cutoff, rez, etc?
