Keystation 88 in Ableton Live

I'm having problems (and from searching around it seems I'm not the only one) assigning any of the buttons on my Keystation Pro 88 via the MIDI map tool in Live 5.2.

All the knobs and faders work (apart from one knob which I suspect is broken) so I got those all set up for each of the first 8 tracks plus the master.

However, I am unable to:

1. Get the 16 buttons below the knobs and faders to register correctly. When I click on, say, the first (labeled B44) to assign it, Live shows it as sending 1/0 (ie, program 0 on channel 1). When I click on the next, B45 (after having chosen the next track mute button) it says I'm hitting the same button.

Yet in the Enigma editor they are all listed with unique MIDI CCs. However - they seem to send on Channel 127. I have tried to set them to channel 0 like the faders but no dice.

2. I can't get the transports to map at all (Live doesn't even respond to them by flashing the green MIDI activity square).

Can anyone help...?

MIDI programming is not my strong point but I thought this would be fairly bog standard in Live.

BTW I have copied the standard bank #10 in Enigma (the one which says it is for user editing).

only confirm I'm getting the same. I've just installed Enigma, so I'm trying to figure out what it's all about.

It's strange...no matter what I do in Enigma, it seems I can't make those buttons behave any differently (and yes I do remember to upload the settings to the keyboard ).

After I get the first button setup, it doesn't matter which button I push next (after selecting stop clip) I get the msg
'this midi controller is already assigned to 'stop button' of audio'

what's curious, is using the key mapping I can assign the stop clip buttons to a row of keys
but then while playing clips and hitting the corresponding keys (in this case z, x,c) nothing happens.

However when I assign them to keys on the keystation, it works...

Have you managed to get the transport controls to work?

I can only get them to work using either the keys on the controller, or my qwerty keyboard.

Seems to me it must be that the buttons are either simply behaving differently than expected. Could it be that the correct zone needs to be defined? I remember when I got my Keystation last year I did map the transport controls....hey, that could imply a change in Live, perhaps?

Ising Midi-Ox I found that the buttons don't send midi notes at all - they send program changes only. Must be a way to change that in enigma.

No matter what I do in Enigma, I can't make Live see the buttons as anything but program bank changes. The transports are sysex. The "fully assignable" buttons may not be so assignable after all - I find no way in Enigma to define an on/off value pair, for example.
