Well my gig ends this coming weekend, so my controller will coming back home..perhaps I'll see if I can get back in on the testing. I don't know if the dev knows about this thread; he did find out about my posting a tune done with this piano several months ago and wasn't very pleased.
I agree with the other testers here; this thing makes you want to play.

Thought I would share a couple of demos of some of my efforts during testing.

This VSTi is not about emulating a particular piano but providing playability.
I think that is exactly what is being accomplished here.

The piano has a great way of being able to sit in a mix and cut through when it needs to. Believe me they are really wanting to do this right and not just rush something out the door. You would not want to eat a cake that was not fully cooked. Although I know a lot of us enjoy tasting the batter and icing going into the cake. :)

First class beta testers as far as I can tell, great demos :D

I was less enthralled by the sound of the piano in the 2nd demo by Pete Unfree, although performance and tune is great, but something is missing in the EQ department or in the "resonance" of the piano sound.

Judging by the demos, I prefer when its sound is more bright/EQed, or run though reverb, I don't know...

Can't wait to see this thing released !

given the neverending discussion about the best rhodes, I find that there's a basic dilemma with finding the best rhodes. The more real rhodes emulations are warm and fuzzy and don't cut through a mix all that well. Somehow we all have some internalized version of what we think this is supposed to sound like, but developers taking samples from real instruments strived to emulate the real thing and the more reslistic the emulation the more it runs into problems that the real instrument runs into.

With an acoustic piano people's opinions of what it's supposed to sound like woul dseem to be held even more tightly. This coming vst piano seems to present an exceptional balance between responding to expressive playing and real sound and maintain the ability to cut through a mix.
Very much looking forward to the introduction.
Maybe I should just forget that whole e-piano pursuit.

...Or simply buy the AAS Lounge Lizard. A friend of mine have me a demonstration of the thing just yesterday. If you're looking for Rhodes and Wurly sounds, Lounge Lizard is your VSTi. 10 out 10 for sound in the KVR reviews - and I didn't believe my ears.

BTW, you people know that 4front was behind the VSL Player instrument right? Trust me, this is gonna be HQ. ;)

Does anyone know when the piano is supposed to be released? I have listed to reflekshun demo over and over and love both the performance and the piano.
Thanks,

The people who might know aren't talking. No doubt it's a marketing thing, always mysterious to me.

I think you'll know only when it happens. It sounds like it's pretty close to ready, doesn't it? I have no insider info about this, so don't read anything into my comment other than the obvious: it sounds great so maybe they'll release it soon!

Bump.

No word?

Getting itchy trigger fingers here...

I guess that means the piano will be just as hellishly expensive as the VSL stuff. No thanks if that is the case. There are plenty of affordable pianos out there that sound just as good (or close enough).

I don't know how much I'm allowed to say about this piano, but I do want to say one thing -- from the perspective of the player, it is one of the very few piano vsti's that gives an overally cue, I'd say at conscious and unconscious levels, that you are actually playing a real piano. I consider that valuable to the creative process.

Certain other (hardware and software) pianos may work better in a mix, or may be more versatile, but as a performance instrument, the realtime feedback and the velocity response really seems to set this one apart.
