I posted this link in another thread, but thought I would share it in it's own topic.

It has pretty much everything about guitar effects and sound, from how to get the sounds to what options are available out there. It seems VERY comprehensive, and actually explains things like effects order and such.

I hope somebody can use it. It's been a good read for me, as I'm still learning it all myself.

Very interesting site, with a radical attitude towards manufacturers! Millitant, even. But lots of good solid info about how to get great sounds on electric guitars.

Amptone is a great site, but in my opinion, they put just a little bit too much emphasis on power tube distortion. They seem to discuss it as the holy grail and its just not that simple. Its one ingredient of many in the recipe for great tone.

Plus, you can get a bazillion great tones without any sort of distortion.

Not that this will stop me from cranking the amp, but hey...
