Hi there, I'm looking for huge quality metal/iron impact sounds and metallic step sounds such as a big robot (without the motors sounds) and machines moving .What I really need is defined metallic sounds that will not have very long reverb tails.I also wish I could find a CD that specialize in metal sounds only.
Thanks,
Shilshoolon

Sorry - i'm a little confused - you are looking for large metallic objects hitting each other with no motor(servo), but you are ALSO looking for machines moving which mean you do want the motor sounds too right? I have a collection of field recordings that I did specifically for robot sounds that I might upload later on today to help you out. The only problem is I have to do some editing to them.shilshoolon1 wrote: such as a big robot (without the motors sounds) and machines moving .

Hi I meant big sounds of moving metal without servo just the metal hitting each other .Tnx for the great sounds Spd3D they sound really good and I will defiantly use them for another purpose as I am looking for a much bigger sound of some sort of huge factory machine hitting metal to metal.

ok here's the short film where i'll be taking some of the samples from when I can get around to sifting through the pro tools sessions;
I realized that some of the sounds are mixed with a few library sounds which I cannot provide(obviously), but in and around 0:44 that large machine robot I used a cuisinart, a parking garage door opening, and I think i pitched down the sound of tapping the ground with a metal pole.
I can't remember much though. There was a lot of pitching going on. For servos my friend taught me a trick where you take the front part of the sound(acceleration) then get rid of all the middle sound and take the de-acceleration of the servo and do a crossfade. So it makes a fast up/down sound without that middle humming noise. The hard part was doing this activity to the picture of a robot moving but it definitely was worth the extra hours to do this trick.

Will have a look at the film later today - have to rush now - but if you want heavy robots, you need to combine a crisp "impact" sound with something bassy suggesting weight, i.e. the floor shaking, like a low synth note or something - you won't get this from single samples, because you want the sound of the robot in its environment , take note of the surfaces ...
This is worth a read : 'Robocop' sound design notes (old film, GREAT robot sounds, grab the film too if you haven't seen it for some reason) :
