Uh, back to the topic... I also haven't gotten any email from Kjerhaus lately (FYI - I'm a registered customer, having purchased the Golden bundle some time back).

25% sales tax on everything, not only physical stuff, but also on services. Also, almost 66% of any extra dollar I earn will go to tax. But here in Denmark a stay in hospital or a visit to a doctor is completely free. All eduction is free, including universities. We also have a decent support of unemployed people, including those who don't even care to look for a job.

So we are, according to a recent survey based on 80 000 interviews, the happiest people in the world. The Swedes only come in as number 7. Must be the presence of Kjaerhus in Denmark that makes the difference.

Then seriously, what hosts are compatible with the side chain function? The manual says not all host are. I prefer Cubase SX3 at the moment, but also have Sonar 5. Any problems?

We can not send them all at once from the server we use, but you should get one. If you have not received it when the GAG-1 is released please contact us.

Cubase supports 4 inputs but Sonar doesn't, so the 4in/2out won't work in Sonar but the other variants will.

Not quite sure how the setup works. To be more specific, I suppose this means I can do the old trick of ducking the bass when the kick drum sounds in Cubase, but not in Sonar?

You can still do that with the mono version as it has two inputs where the second (R) is the sidechain. So in Sonar you should insert the mono version on a stereo channel and send the bass to the left channel and kick to the right channel.

Well, there are American companies who accepts that my American cousin orders something using my credit card ...

Anyway, even within the EU they are supposed to charge 25% VAT when the order is from Denmark, but not everyone does. The same goes for German music stores when you buy equipment, some only charge 16% VAT and mail the goods to Denmark.

I got curious, and read up on this... If our government's EU information is up to date, the following applies:

Whether the seller should pay VAT in his own country or in the destination country seems to depend on his turnover in the destination country: In Sweden, fore example, the limit is 320 000 SEK, so if a foreign business makes more than that here, they should pay our VAT. If lower, they pay the VAT in their own country. This turnover threshold varies from country to country (trust Sweden to have one of the lowest!

voxengo thankfully no longer charges VAT.

Maybe kjaerhus could use the same company. I must admit the high VAT was another thing I found distasteful about Kjaerhus ( and I guess any other company charging high VAT)

The new one is cool and pretty but is it easier on the eyes?

I agree! The old one is MUCH easier to read.

But of course.. the old one has much bigger fonts and are completely black.

IMHO the new GUI looks much better than the old GUI. More polished and 'real' somehow.

I like the style of the new GUI, but agree it could do with a bit more contrast. I actually find looking at it on its own is fine, it's easy enough to read, only in contrast to the old GUI with more black does it look a little washed out. Maybe next on the agenda could be an upgrade of all the old GUIs to the new?

I'm sure Torben already said all the old Golden plugins would be updated graphically in line with GAG-1

I agree to an extent. The darker font on the old style really makes the markings stand out. The new buttons and knobs are great, but the shadows again destroy legibility. What's the deal with making the button look like it's raised when it's off? The light is enough to let us know it's on.

The new style is just over-done. Please lose the shadows and up the contrast. Make them easier to use rather than harder. If you can't see the settings, the plugin is harder to use. Better these plugins be more useful than prettier than their competition.
