I don't know how to answer that question, because it doesn't really make any sense, no offense. But I'll take a stab at what I think you mean...
The Original Lexicon 200 ran at 11kHz. Most DAW users today run their systems at 44.1kHz or 48kHz. If you use a bit reduction plug, or a sampler, to take a 44.1 or 48kHz sound and run it at 11kHz, you'll note a few things. First, there's a high-pitched metallic ring going on. That's known as aliasing. You'll have generally less headroom overall, and the sound will be sort of chunky and not too good.
Lexicon got around these "features" of working at low sample rates by generously dosing their hardware with low-pass filters and such. We don't have to include those, because any aliasing at 44.1kHz is generally beyond the range of human hearing. Thus, our plugin, which shares the same general architecture as the 200, and definitely the same workflow, doesn't sound a lot like the 200. It will _remind_ you of a 200, if you're used to working with one, but it is much livelier, due to the general "better" nature of today's DSP environment.
Now, for those of you that know about such things, you'll know that running an algorithmic reverb at different sample rates produces (sometimes significantly) different results, and Reverence will be no exception to this. Since most people (roughly 95% in our estimation) run their DAWs at 44.1, we've tuned Reverence so it sounds best at this sample rate. It will run at other common sample rates, but it is happiest here. Our line of logic was that someone that needs to run their DAWs at 96K probably isn't in the market for a low-cost VST reverb anyways. Reverence sounds quite good at other sample rates, but the sound we intended occurs at 44.1kHz.

yeah - I was just thinkng it was odd of you to say that the reverb would sound better at 48khz as running anything at that samplerate is purely a waste of CPU and HD space compared to 44.1khz - anyways, why not make a simmilar sounding reverb to the 200 if ya know how to?
forget about modern DSP and sound "explanations", it should sound like the orginal!
otherwise don't even "model" it on the 200 - seems just like a marketing thing then using "vintage lexicon sound" as PR...if ya know what I mean.
anyone can make a generic reverb, smack on a logo - say "TC M6000" and say - "hey here's a pro reverb, it's got the logo on it, no?"
so, make with the real thing or don't! simple as that imo.

I find your entire problem with this funny Snook. Why the heck do you care if its a clone of something or not? If it sounds good, and I'm sure it will, then perfect!
They are not marketing it as a model of the 200, and Chris just set the record straight directly to you (as opposed to a press release) on WHY it looks like the 200, so why don't you just drop it? Flogging a dead horse and all that.

We didn't clone the 200 exact, because the 200 isn't very useful; it only does one thing well, and that one thing is a dated sound. Since there aren't many remixes of early 80s Phil Collins songs hitting the airwaves these days, we decided to make something that might be, like, useful or something.
In any case, if you have an issue with that, then by all means avoid buying our products like the plague. Seriously. I won't lose any sleep over what you think we should or shouldn't have done. I never lie in our marketing liturature, which I write. If it was a 200 clone I would say so. It isn't; it sounds like a 200 if a 200 ran at 44.1/48 and didn't have a heaping spoonful of low pass filters. I don't know how I could be any clearer on that.
