The new look is much nicer. I barely think reasonable people could disagree. It looks both more like other plugins and more like hardware. Very nice work.
Grist for the glamour mill.

I still like the old one better, maybe except the logo and headline. Dislike the new knobs in particular. As I said before the new design is not suited for a gold background, but a white metal of some kind.

Let me repeat that the VAT for EU citizens is now only 16% because Shareit is now the official seller of the product and they only have to charge 16% German VAT. And as said many times before VAT is a TAX - it is not something the companies can decide if they want to charge or not. Every cent goes right to the government so I am sure we would all be more than happy to not charge VAT or pay our TAX if it was possible. I do not know how Voxengo is doing what you say but remember he is located in Russia where there are other laws.daverich wrote:voxengo thankfully no longer charges VAT.
Maybe kjaerhus could use the same company. I must admit the high VAT was another thing I found distasteful about Kjaerhus ( and I guess any other company charging high VAT)
Kind regards
Dave Rich

Yes, hardly any reason to involve the seller in such a debate. Unless, of course, you feel that the only honest seller is an illegal one...!
BTW, got my discount e-mail today... good! For a while there, I thought something was wrong at either end of the mail system.

just make the fonts black and 2 pixels bigger like in golden* vst's, no harm done, much better readibility.. or smthng..
Love that GAG-1 stuff, cant wait to test

We hired a professional graphic designer to make the GUI and personately I am satisfied with the result. If we want to change something it will cost and no matter how many changes one would make to a GUI design there will always be someone who complain, so what is the point?. Compared to GUIs from other vendors I personately do not understand the fuss about this one. Check PSP, Normad, Digidesign, Sonalksis and honestly tell me that they are easier to look at, I do not think so.legendCNCD wrote:just make the fonts black and 2 pixels bigger like in golden* vst's, no harm done, much better readibility.. or smthng..

Don't compare to the competition, compare to the previous version of "Golden Plug-Ins". I think the point about a darker and slightly larger font is correct. If you are going to use the designer for redesigning updates of older plugs, you may just as well deal with this, now that you have had user feed-back.
Anyway, using a pro designer is no guaranty. As you know some amateur musicians play better than "pro". I was a press photographer before I became a doctor, so I have some experience evaluating graphic material.

tombuur, as I see it the font color matches other colors used on the GUI. If you make the font black you have to adjust colors on many other graphical pieces. I like to take peoples critique into consideration but as I see it only a few people are unsatisfied while most people like it. If we used time and money changing it we would probably have just as many complaining again. I do not think you can find a single GUI everyone find completely satisfying, so pleasing everyone is just not possible. The main thing is that a majority thinks it's an improvement.
BTW note that we are one of the few having scales on our knobs at all, most doesn't anyway. I think the graphic designer saw a need to cut down the size of that scale without removing it completely. I think the font is small as well but considdering that others don't have a scale at all I think this is a better solution than removing it (because there are no space for a larger font).
Best

heres an idea for the meter on GAG, envisage the closed setting in the middle and the open setting to be top and bottom, that way it would visualy look like a gate opening and closing. open would have no led's and as it closed led's would grow from the top and bottom simulaneously until they met in the middle, which would indicate closed.
Just a thought...
GUI is fine BTW

it's a slippery slope for sure. torben, i appreciate where you are coming from myself. i am constantly asked to make changes, and i do so because i can and i'm doing it for free on my own. i think the best possible answer is to make the products skinnable. i know it's not easy but then the user cannot blame or whine, since they can fix it themselves.Torben wrote:We hired a professional graphic designer to make the GUI and personately I am satisfied with the result. Who cares how contrasted the numbers around the knobs are? They're just a nice little decoration.
The only numbers you really need to look at are the ones in the box beneath the knobs which is a black box with white font - and I don't see how anything could have more contrast than that!
The new GUI is great.

OK let me chip in here since I was the one who started this GUI thing.
In my opinion both GUI's are great and it's definitely not a deal breaker but with all that said I want to add that after looking at these for a few days I made up my mind........
........ and I prefer the old one.
