Aleksey, no need to get a top end MacIntel box. Get the lowest end MacBook. It flies. It can also drive an external monitor.

Yes, sure, that's not a problem - I was just sharing with my feelings.

PPC Mac I have is Mac iBook.. but to be honest, it's hardly suitable for development - its compilation times are very high. It's like "make a change and wait next 10 minutes to test it" (in the worst scenario). Of course, if even the low-end MacIntel is powerful enough, I may get it instead of a high-end MacIntel.

My $1099 MacBook is 5x (or more) faster than my expensive G4 Dual 800. I'm glad I got it instead of Mac Mini. It's convenient to have everything wrapped up in a package.

I spent a few hundred extra to max it out with 2GB of Ram and a 100GB 7200 hard drive.

Compile times would be fast, trust me.

Yes, there is way... But AFAIK full-time professionals do not really like to use 'wrappers'. At least I'm sure some people spread the word about wrappers being 'half solution' thing. I'm also sure people will keep asking me to support RTAS natively.

Thanks. I myself is positive about wrappers (about those that don't create problems) - it is just true that not all users are.

Krakatau, sure, universal binaries are my goal. I just do not have MacIntel computer right now to test it well myself. That will require additional $3000 of my budget which I'm not happy to release since my current PPC Mac stands collecting dust 99% of the time. Having two Macs collecting dust is a bit too luxury.

You can get a mac mini for like $600 and stick some crappy monitor on it... $3000 not needed at all. The mini is small and out of the way when not used. For about $1100 you can get a macbook.

And I am another of the Mac users who will be buying VST/AU version of some of your plug-ins whenever they are available.

Dont let the wrapper issue put you of you would be amazed at how many 'native' rtas plugs are running wrappers. Of course those who complain about wrappers are the ones usually not actually aware of the facts they have simply read some forum rumour about someones bad experiance and 2 + 2 becomes 5.

Theres an aweful lot of RTAS adaptors out there running on machines owned by people with cash in there pockets.

Also bear in mind that for the most part compared to the world of PC there is a lot less warez.

Most studios running macs tend (generalisation) to be legit.

Mac is certainly a large part of our user base , I dont want to mis quote chris from audio damage but he remarked I think something like 60-70% of his customer base was mac.

From my own POV I would like to see you port your plugins to the mac platform there is definately a lack of good alternatives to the well known names out there in mac land

Mac may only be a tiny percentile of the computer market but in the audio world its prolific.

I think Torbens move to mac releases is also very positive.
