which are the linux "offers" in modular hosts or tracker hosts?
i know audio is not an "easy" matter on linux yet but i just wanna get the picture of what is going on in linux and hosts like this. hope theres someone around that can tel me some site/information . thanks.

I've heard about Skale, which runs very well under Linux... but no, there's no planned VST support.

EnergyXT 2 should be ported to Linux (at least Jorgen is investigating the opportunities of a port).

Audio is not a problem on Linux but VST support is, although softwares like fst are encouraging, but far from running every VSTs in the world of course.

Compatible VST are listed here.

renoise?(not a confusion?) already on linux? didn't knew, but im just starting and getting interest in trackers, (im even reading some of the trackers history

).
i will give skale a look, when their site is back, but by the google screenshots, looks just like fastracker, maybe its just what i wanted (im ok with not using vsts in linux at least for now )

It's not a port at all. EnergyXT2 is dual platform and has been from pretty much the start, jorgen has stated more than once that he already has it running in Linux. Native w32 vst support isn't going to happen anytime soon as far as we know though.

Renoise runs on:
Windows 95-98-Me-2000-XP
Mac OS X (PPC and INTEL) 10.3.9 or higher

I don't see anywhere that it runs on linux...

Sound & MIDI Software For Linux is the definitve site for info on Linux music software.

You might find Beast interesting. It's a modular studio with a tracker component.

For straight up trackers; CheeseTraker is based on ImpulseTracker, and Soundtracker is more like FT2.

I thought I read somewhere that Tunafish works on Linux, but I don't see it mentioned on the site.

I never made a Linux version, but I have several reports that it works perfectly using Wine so that's probably what you've heard.
