Following on from this I thought it might be interesting for plugin developers to name fellow plugin developers who they regarded as the best and why!

A long time ago, the Observer Sunday Magazine from the UK ran a series of articles called the Experts Expert. They asked experts from a particular field who they regarded as their expert. For example, the Guitarists Guitarist would ask the top guitarists who they admired and respected.

I didn't even know about DtBlkFx - crazy!
As I have no developer tendencies, I can't answer this thread!

I'd love to be rogered.
I guess he technically is developing developers, as the thread subject would imply.

- Jeff McClintock, for making synthedit.
- Dave Haupt, for making good modules and excellent support.
- Kelly D Lynch, for making all his converter modules and all his programming advice.
And all other devs creating good music software.

Many will disagree with me, but I've admired Propellerheads for their skills ever since ReBirth. In the last years of the Nineties they pulled off stuff that wasn't even considered technically possible at that time and more or less created a whole new market segment.Charlie wrote:Following on from this I thought it might be interesting for plugin developers to name fellow plugin developers who they regarded as the best and why!
Andy Simper. Puts my face in deep paleness when I see what he does.
Thanks Urs! Now for my take:
For analog modeling I vote for Antti Huovilainen (smartelectronix), David Berners (UA) and Jonathan Abelthe (UA). They can all make models based schematics and the physics of electronics - I am learning this stuff slowly with the help of Antti :) I really appreciate that Antti also publishes papers to help the entire community.
For physical modeling I vote for Markus Sapp from emagic who does a great job making realistic sounding cpu efficient models with great control parameters, and the Korg Oasis physical modeling guys as well, although I haven't had as much chance to use their stuff, I've only heard some demos.
