Hi,

I think we have a product close to your needs, and the next version will include exactly what you wish, if I understood your post. Please tell me if you are interested in beta testing the next version of this product.

The Digital Peak Meter Pro enables you today to record the envelope of the signal as an automation curve in your host, as well as modify it. It exists as a directX and VST plug-in. It's basically an "offline" version of a peak controller.

It does not support MIDI CC output yet, but the next version (probably released in september, maybe before) will, and will include many other features as well (RMS, hold time, real time preview of the envelope, Blue Cat skinning language support...).

Here is a preview of one of the skins that will be delivered with the product:

BlueCat, that looks cooool! :D. Interesting meter + features.

Thanks! It's been in work for a while, so it will include all the new functionalities already available on our other products. It's in fact an entire new product.

Here is preview of the available MIDI settings:

I think it is particularly interesting for live playing: let your drummer control your guitar Wah with his cymbals, mute the guitarist when the singer sings etc. A bunch of new interactions :D
But the fact that it's skinnable also lets you use it as a "simple" meter:

It now supports one skin per preset as well as a default global skin, so you can use as many skins per session as you wish.

Probably by the end of the month. We will first release the freeware Chorus with MIDI input capability & multi-skin support, and this one will be the second of our products to support MIDI.

I presume you downloaded the "old" freeware one. It's very far from this new version :)
