Why the Expiration date? Is this going to be a paid update? Not that I would mind that much. Love Edison but don't like the new CPU/Ram meter, hard to see.
They were "betas". Betas which work better then the first version 6 full releases, mind you.

I still love FL Studio more than anything :hug:

I'd like to see Fruity Loops for OS X. I'm surprised its not yet compatible.

Really? I don't remember FL's betas being time limited going all the way back to Ver 3. Could be wrong tho since I can't even remember where I left my keys any more.

Yep. Made in Mac-only Delphi.

They're timelimitted, because that forces you to download the final release when it becomes availlable. Otherwise people will just keep on using the beta and start whining about bugs which have been fixed ages ago.

And betas are almost always timelimitted. Exceptions always exist though.

The first beta was 6.1,the second 6.3,the third and final or the release version will be 6.5.

FL7 planned for 2007.
4.0.x -> 4.5.x -> 5.0.x -> 6.0.x ->

See the pattern? The next release is 6.5 :) Then comes 7.0

and 6.5 is not too far away.

Oh and the final beta SHOULD be your release candidate.

I did't say that there are no time limited beta's. I just say that lot's are. Even beta's of free products. It's in the devellopers interest from a sales and support point of view, and it's in the customer's best interest because they get to use a better product. Even if you do not intend to sell it (like the karmaFX synth).
The masses are stupid, individuals are not. Unfortunately as a develloper you get to deal with the masses, so you need to give them a push in the right direction.

What I'm trying to say is that it makes perfect sense to make a beta timelimited and the vast majority of beta releases are.
