We have started using vocals as a form of effect in our live music. I wanted to know if anyone knows of a good pitch shifter or some kind of neet vocoder that might be useful or interesting. We have been using like delays and reverb, flanger. all the basic stuff. What kind of plugins should we look at? also not just crazy effects but filters and eq's that will significantly change the sound in other ways.

Spaceman and clone ensemble come to my mind. Plus that anatres pitch corrector can due mean stuff as well, but does cost some money.

audiodamage's discord2. some of xoxos' plugs (formant, e.g.)

granular devices such as lucifer2 or heizenbox can do some pseudo-timestretching and stuttering plus much more. there are cool granular freebies for stuff like that, too.

off the top of my head... sure i missed many cool ones. :D

the Digetech Whammy/Pitch pedal and Heil Talkbox pedal (the talking guitar effect, but I suppose you could use it with other instruments/keyboards as well). I suppose Guitar Rig 2 has both of these modeled in the effects section too of course.
