vst effect pickup simulation

Im searching for a vst effect that would simulate electromagnetic-"guitar or electric piano" pickup
I had such effects on my yamaha EX5 (EP pickup and EG pickup) and the result was very interesting, you could feed any audio in it,i tried a lot of distortions but none were similar to a pickup so i was wondering if it existed in a vst effect somewhere...

That's interesting...can you describe what it did to the sound?
Could it make an acoustic guitar sound like an electric? I know
it could'nt do that with a acoustic piano as an ep has tines rather than strings and totally different tone. Was it just
more "bite" or "drive" or "growl"? I'd love to hear some
clips!
Cheers....CL

Bodilizer, I think that's what its called....it's pretty close to what you're looking for. Look it up in the KVR Effects database.

Well its a little hard to describe but i can try...CapnLockheed wrote:That's interesting...can you describe what it did to the sound?

These are special effects called FDSP "formulated digital sound processing" i guess, its like physical modeling so for the EG pickup i can change the pickup type, coarse of the signal, picking position, picking notch, pickup position, pickup notch, drive, distance and finally some hpf,lpf before the output.
What is also very cool is every FDSP effect is polyphonic, note dependant so every note has its own effected space...
The sound is hard to describe...and english is not my main language...but to me its very "compact","punchy" like a distortion without the "lo-fi" effect...
I still have my EX5 so i guess i could do some audio examples...ill think about this...

Well ive opened my yamaha and finally the effect im searching for is th EP Pickup(electric piano pickup) this is with this effect that i get some pretty cool distortion not with the guitar pickup...when i feed a sound in with a peaking lpf resonnance before ,it sounds like a trumpet,or brass.very nice
So im sure this effect doesnt exist....anyway...
thanks totc, for the try but bodilizer is not gonna work for this (i thought the eG pickup was like the eP pickup but its finally very different sounding)

it's ~difficult w/o editing the source.. but here's an idea :p
use two delays.. on a string model, i simulate a pickup by delaying the distance from each end of the string, then processing for the pickup dynamics.. ..since you can't really tap any source for 'each end of the string, perhaps you can get a half-as seffect by combining the output of two delays of the signal?? :p
..or maybe 1 delayed signal 1 inverted delayed signal, sum both, feed into pickup emulation..
