As the thread title says, who uses these effects, and do you recommend them? I read about Space Boy in an old CM magazine, which certainly sounds interesting, perhaps innovative.

Looking at the site they seem to have several interesting and unusual effects. They seem remarkably cheap for what they claim to offer, which is slightly off-putting.

Do they actually work well, and who can testify about them? (espeically within Live, Sonar, Audition). Also, what is the developer support like (etc)?

I would definitely be interested in demoing and buying some of these if they are well-regarded by the KVR gurus! Thanks in advance.

I like SpaceBoy and ChoirBoy a lot. Never needed any support for them, but Elevayta does keep an eye on relevant KVR threads.

To be honest I really like them. I have several....but.... the one that I really like Choirboy uses way too much cpu in Traction for me to use it.

I guess I should add, AMD 2000XP, 1gb ram, WinXPsp2, EWX24/96

Okay - are they generally quite CPU intensive then, or just ChoirBoy?

Not sure. All I know is it is huge on my system. Then again so is Ambience. For me totally unusable in Traction. I am not sure what say about the other Elevayta plugs. I don't really use them.

there is a forum here for Elevayta...;)

My impressions are very positive. They do what it says "on the box" very well. They also beg to be used creatively. Gui is nice, simple and clear.I did not notice any of them to be particularly cpu hungry. Support for me has been excellent, I asked twice and it was to the point and very fast. And the price... well, you said it yourself. Why not try the demos?

I've been using Wider Boy Pro in Ableton Live for quite some time now, without any problemas whatsoever, and not much CPU usage too.

I hate to give anyone the impression that there is something wrong with these. On the contrary, they sound great, I personally haven't successfully used Choirboy (without high CPU) in Traction and I really hope that it is just me because the developer of these plugins is very helpful and it seems not many people have problems. So i say use them, buy them, chances are you'll be glad you did.

Thanks for the tips and recommendations everyone!

I didn't know there was a forum for elevayta here - I will check that too. And download the demos. 8)

I downloaded the demo for Extra Boy Pro, and I'm actually really impressed... sure, you could theoretically do the same thing with a very fine EQ, but Extra Boy gives you an excellent way to isolate frequencies in a visual way, as well as the ability to cut frequencies at specific panned points, which most EQs don't really do. Could be an invaluable boon for sampling old records, since they had more drastic panning.

I find spaceboy very useful, although it takes some planning to use. I use it when the song is finished, right before mixdown.
