voxengo for reverb?

wouldn't it be nice? to have voxengo quality reverb (not IR) costing way much less than CSR..

It would because I suspect, judging by the free Vintage reverb, which I love, it would have great quality.

I'd love to see voxengo's make a algorithm reverb for commercialware, but Aleksey did'nt seem to interested in this when asked about it in the past.

EDIT: hehehe. *NOT* IR... you're right, but I think that you should pay for quality. From a pro's point of view, CSR must be one hell of a bargain
and I would have no problem shelling out the dosh if I had it from what I've heard. As far as Voxengo goes, I think his strengths lie greatly with dynamic processing. Maybe he has less experience and ear for reverb??But it still might be nice.

Not in the foreseeable future I would say. From my past experience with algorithmic reverbs (OldSkoolVerb is an example of my past attempts), developing a good reverb can be a bit tedious process, while right now I have a good deal of improvements to existing plug-ins for implementation.
One can design any schemes and signal flows for an algorithmic reverb, etc, but IR reverb of the given quality and length will be infinitely more close to a real thing. So, from this point of view my attempts (if there will be any) may result in some 'weird' reverbs - at least I'm not interested in creating algorithmic reverb that tries to be as good as IR reverbs.

A good verb algo can munch cpu cycles like nothing else.
That said -
YES! I would love to see voxengo release a verb of the quality of UAD Plate. I'm sure if anyone can do it Aleksey can.

Actually I think a lot of people would love just about anything new from voxengo.
Personally, I'd like to see some kind of new take on stereo width processing. Stereo touch is pretty good already, but MY HUNGER IS UNQUENCHABLE!

I would be interested in a Kjaerhus GOlden Reverb to fill this gap (top notch but more affordable professional reverb).
For IR reverb I adore my Perfect Space (which is based on Pristine Space Lite, no?)

I would love to see somebody build a hybrid reverb that uses IR for ultra smooth reverb tails, and algorithms for the Early Reflections. I would love to see a reverb that can "sample" an impulse response, and find the highest peaks, and calculate the Early Reflection delays necessary to recreate them. The delays could then be user tweakable, but basically that would remove a lot of the tedium and tweaking algorithm designs.
I tend to think that to a certain extent, a diffuse reverb tail is fairly similar from one reverb to the next. The length and dampening obviously change - so maybe the sampling program could just detect the RT60 and slope of the filters and generate a smooth tail from a wavetable.
It's the ER's that give the character and sense of space. If we say assume that this reverb will have 16 early reflections, we could sample any impulse and look for the peaks on the Left and Right channels and create the parameters for all 16 delays, and i'm thinking this would be musically useful. The advantage? You could then tweak things to taste, and apply modulation to the delays or the tail. And it should be fairly economical on CPU too.
