Right amount of reverb? (vote!)

I think this also depends on the track and music ....

For fast Rap sounds dry may be better....with some effects on some instruments....

for slow balad you may throw in more reverb on the vocal to get a special space....

for the first track the reverb just destroys the groove a little bit... I would use shorter rooms or go more dry...

I have to say that this song grows on me; very nice and she sings great. This song kind of remind me of some of the songs made by Mike Oldfield and song by Mackie Riley. When will the album be out, I want it (but do something to that hi-hat)

The vocals sit a lot better in track 2, I think. The thing with track 1 is that there's all these really washed out parts, huge reverbs, and the vocal comes in sounding a bit like karaoke. I don't know how you mixed it, but I'd start with a short delay, a longer delay, a balanced room reverb (that I'd use on the drums and that el gtr especially too), and a special hall or plate for the vocal.

The genre isn't one I've ever worked in, so I'm not sure about the idiom really. My inclination would be to try and get the vocal in the same weird space as at least some of the instruments, but you may not want that.

I disagree about the vocals on the second one. The lead vocal on the refrain is way too hot. You need to bring it back into context with the rest of the mix. The verses seem fine.

The guitars are walking on the vocal on the first track. I know you like the playing, but they need pulled back some.

Different songs require different amounts and textures of reverb. The reverb on these mixes seems fine to me. It's other things that are messing them up.

in short, If you allow me...

On the 1st track :

More than an excessive ** amount of reverb i would regret it unappropriation :

i would have liked to hear more reverberated the monophonic line of the electric guitar and the sibilants of the lead vocal line, instead of low-mid frequencies of percussions and bass as much as i can judge

On the 2nd track

This one, with a very simple groove that the voice style strictly follows ,would have appreciate the addition of some short, tempo related gate reverb or reverse reverb in my taste.
