Hi everyone, i have Acid pro 6 boxed and have it installed on the main computer i use, i was just wondering though as i have other computers can i install it on more than one or do i have to buy another one to do that. If the answer is no what about if say you wanted to sell a computer at some point but keep the software would i really have to buy another copy to use it or is sony cool with installing the program on more than one computer? It's not that important at the moment i guess because im quite happy with my current computer but im thinking about the future
and also would just like to know in general. Also if i can't install on more than one does the same rule apply for all major companys such as the NI products also? Many thanks

EULA1. GRANT OF LICENSE. Sony hereby grants you a limited, non-exclusive license to use the Software on one (1) computer at a time upon the terms and conditions set forth in this Agreement. In the event your Software title is also equipped with a Software application-related network renderer (with which you can render projects on additional computer(s)) (each a "Renderer"), Sony hereby grants you a limited, non-exclusive license to use such Renderer(s) on up to two (2) additional computers at a time, solely in connection with the use of Software on a single computer and subject to the terms and conditions set forth in this Agreement. Sony reserves all rights in and to the Software and the Renderer(s) not otherwise granted in this Agreement.
2. RESTRICTIONS ON USE. You may not: (a) use the Software on more than one computer at a time without purchasing additional licenses, (b) copy the Software (except for one (1) back-up copy), (c) distribute, share, sublicense, lend, lease or otherwise make the Software available to any third party (on the Internet, an information network or tangible media, by broadcast or in any other manner), (d) modify, adapt, create derivative works from or translate any part of the Software, (e) reverse engineer, decompile or disassemble the Software or otherwise attempt to obtain its source code, (f) remove or alter any copyright, trademark or other proprietary notice contained in the Software, or (g) use the Software in any manner not set forth in this Agreement or in the Software's documentation.
In a nutshell, if you want to put it on another computer you'll have to uninstall from the one it's already on first. That's basically a sweeping clause for most software.

That's a good point M4M, i didn't catch that. Yeah, so according to the license, install it on as many comps as you want, just don't use them simultaneously.M4M wrote:You may not: (a) use the Software on more than one computer at a time without purchasing additional licenses,
so i guess one laptoop and one studio computer, if you don't use it at the same time

Yes, you generally can have ACID Pro installed, on multiple computers (typical a desktop & laptop), as long as you don't use them both, at the same time and it is for your own personal use. FWIW, I have ACID Pro 6 installed, on both my desktop & laptop.
