is there a way to change the cc number of a vst plugin parameter to a different number

Post

in a host such as ext that allows for easy midi routing you could use a plug such as nicfit's midimunger to translate one cc to another in realtime. that's what i usually do.

As I see it there are two levels of doing it, either as fabi said, or the target VST/VSTi is configurable on this matter. Samplers often have tables that define what to do with every midi message there is. Many synths has this as well and it's often called a midi matrix. And many other software has midi learn abilities, you press midi learn for a certain button in a synth and it enter learn-mode, move an external controller, and assignment is done to this controller.

why so complicated? just use eXT's built-in cc-mapper ;)

built in cc mapper?? do you mean the workaround using xt-vst's to map cc, or am i missing something? is it a normal component, like the channel mapper and the arp?

i guess we mean the same, it's no special comp, just the cc-map that midifies any plugin. it does just what wsaidah asked

and it might be worth to try it with the VST-RTAS adapter. look at the screeny i did, it should work. you get the "cc map" in the file menu of every plug-in window in eXT.

click here for the big screeny

to check out if it works with the adapter you can try the eXT demo -> http://www.xt-hq.com
the only demo limitation is that you can't reload projects until you purchase a license, but you can save everything, so if it works out, just save your "template" and buy this handy tool/sequencer/maid for everything/religion/you-name-it ;)
