I'm using guitar rig and the noise can get pretty nasty sometimes on the more distorted settings.
I just saw the "essential gate expander" by Nomad but I'm having trouble finding high end gates without a bunch of compressors and eq's hooked up with them. I've got tons of the other stuff. I just need silence in my recordings.

I use GGate to remove noise when I'm not playing with the GSuite JCM900 and Tubescreamer plugs.

Golden Audio Gate by Kjaerhus is probably the best out here now.There is a fully functional demo available also to try. http://www.kjaerhusaudio.com/gag-1.php

Just as I read your post I came across the Kjaerhus plugins. I had tried their demos before on other plugins plus I see their GAG-1 gate just came out. Probably what I'm more in the market for.

this is just a plain gate, nothing fancy. it is probably the best one i've ever used. most software gates are actually not gates, but work much differently than the typical analog 'noise' gate. i got fed up with all the software working in weird and wonderful ways, and wrote this one. if you know what i'm talking about, it'll probably be exactly what you want.

I'll be damned. This thing works pretty cool! Damn sure takes the noise out. I haven't tried the other effects yet but wow!

I like the Xhip Gate. I typically use the Gvst gate but when I need more control (often) I use xhip.

I recommend this one, too. I've been giving it a good run this past week, very useful indeed.

Any recommendations for noise gate plugins?
