I don't, but for the price I am interested in ethnoworld 3 complete (although a bit unsure) & Peter Siedlaczek's Complete Classical Collection.
Used the classical collection at a mates & was very impressed with it for the price - it seems to pack alot in there & would totally cover me personally for strings, brass, pianos & more.
Anyone actually using this?

Absynth 3 is a sample library? Huh...and here I was thinking it was a synth with samples...

At one point I had 30+ GB of samples and I've never bought or owned any sample packs. Just collected them off of the net and from crate digging over time. However over the past year Ive drastically cut back on my samples and only have roughly 13GB and a large portion (prolly like a 3rd) of it is resampled pads/bass/loops/Fx of my own. Getting samples can be addicting (like porn) but having an overwhelming amount is counter productive.
Unless you do a lot of orchestral work or work with a lot of real world samples you shouldnt need that many samples.

I have it but don't use it myself as the samples are quite out dated now. Eeast West Symphonic Orchestra is the way to godiverdee wrote:I don't, but for the price I am interested in ethnoworld 3 complete (although a bit unsure) & Peter Siedlaczek's Complete Classical Collection.

Really?
I wonder if it depends on what you are actually trying to achieve with the sample library in question.
For instance I wouldn't be scoring orchestral pieces - it'd purely be strings & horns etc. over dance music - which the Siedlaczek collection seems more than adequate for.
The smart violins portion of it - my mate used that over some garage bootlegs he was doing - quick & easy to fit in.
regarding the whole huge multi gigabyte libraries - this same mate was mastering some tunes for another friend, kinda funky old school soul & rnb (bit of a gospel feel, rare groove - guys a jazz guitarist, phenomenal player).
Anyways there were some amazing horn sections on it, really catchy, fit in the mix beautifully - sparse, perfect.
They were all done on his old-ish akai sampler & were the result of him chopping up & editing his old memphis horns (An Akai format collection of samples).
Sounded totally live to me.
He'd got to 'know' that collection over time & could work wonders with it - food for thought.

- Sampletank 2XL, Sonic Synth 1, and several ST2-format sets from ESoundz
- Miroslav
- GPO
- Kontakt2
- Wusik V3 + VOXD + TSW + etc
- Dimension Pro (and Rapture)
- Rhino2 and all of Dan Maurer's sound sets
- SFZ+ (and VSampler) for soundfonts
- Eve 2 and several add-on soundsets (FS1R, Mellotron)
- Numerous commercial soundfonts (EMU Module Mania, Utopia SD, Sonic Implants Retro GM, Papelmedia GM, and others).
- Third-party soundsets from PMI, Sampletekk, NSL, Precisionsound, and others for the above.
Right now, only the plugins themselves, plus the soundfonts, a few Kontakt soundsets, and content for Rhino, DimPro and Eve live on my laptop's internal hard drive. All the others are on an external (faster) USB drive.

To many!
The ones I use often are:
- EWQLSO Gold
- NI Synthetic Drums 1 & 2
- Distorted Reality 1 & 2
- BT's signature series CD's
- DFH
- Planet of the breaks
I recently got hold of Black and White grand pianos, which Im looking forward to trying out soon.
Other CD's include various FX and loop releases. I have some SFX sound design CD's which are cool. I tend to use these to develop sound design ideas - then if what to actually make some samples I go out and record what I need.

took a while for the serious replies to trickle down eh!
There's as much unbearable in-crowdism at KvR as there is willy-wagging (nice one lovesign btw, put a smile on my face
)
Anyway all dsample libs I have are the ones that came with ESXP24, RMIV and Symptohm, other than that it's all internet flotsam
Marco
edit: waving not wagging, sorry!
