I believe you are trumping up the importance of presets because you believe yourself to be good at it, so it must be the most important part of song writing. These are delusions IMO.

Someone that respects suck ass music just because some rhythm less hack twisted a few knobs isn't going to gain you any reciprocal respect:roll:. Most musicians with above average intelligence see a bigger picture than you obviously. How much time in the day does it take to find out which freakin bands used presets or not?

Nope. Its just saws + filter. I wanted to know if somebody knew what synth i used though

I actually really liked it, can't guess which synth but it sounds very smooth to me, especially coming off the envelope at the end.

Very nice dude

I created demo mp3 with Absynth 3 :!:

Though I believe Absynth is also great as a VA (and even greater at some other types of sounds), I love Virus sounds, too. I'd buy it if they released the native version. I just want to do every with a laptop.

hey dude, this is a little more euro than I personally prefer, but still very catchy.

A few little tips from my perspective...

- bass drum is too high pitched
- the lead synth is not on beat, trance music requires quantization :D
- The drum beat is a little basic for today's standards, I strongly suggest you get some more short hihats playing at semiquavers (16th notes) ... umm also a couple loops in the background, e.g. bongos and stuff like that.

Nice stuff tho bud, a very commercial song that could get popular if you can add that little bit extra to the beat :D

Awesome man, was listening again and damn it's so so catchy ! :hihi:  I never like to give opinions of other people's stuff without sharing something of my own, so here we are...

This is a track I'm working on only with Zebra2 (this is my test song lol). This track is a combination of 2 parts of the song so there's a little break in the middle to skip to the other part of the song.

Apart from a CPU spiking bug that is in the present version of Zebra2, it was a pleasure to work with, I have mentioned this to Urs and I'm pretty sure he is already aware of the issue and is on it. I'm not sure I could ever go back to Synth1 now

Cheers

Happy-Euro-Dance :P Not my thing but good. I'd agree that a little more drumbeat would make it shone.

Thanks! :D

Don't think I'll reveal what it is just yet, I'd like to have a few other people guess first. But its not a virus. :hihi:

Its a bit overly compressed but the sounds are 100% :tu:. Better than anything I've done to date

Wow Excellent song you got there i really love it
It has great energy, with very nice and smooth parts :hail:

Let me know when your song is finnished coz i want it :tu:

The synth i used in my song is V-Station (And i think i am going use the Synth1 for my kickdrum instead of a sample) :-o :D

So you think piano didn't make much sense before John Cage?
Baas wrote:The truth is that a synthesizer is created to encourage the user to make MUSIC not sounds. Just like a guitar or piano as you mention yourself. Why do you think so many professional musicians have a professional sounddesigner standing behind them ?
Nicely put.

Altho much of the music on kvr, for example, sux - it's made by people who do everything from scratch. That I respect.

dear snooky, i see your point, but why not go further with a logic like that and build your own synths, hell, invent the computer and program your own seqencer.

I'm a musician and I know what and where my limits are (most of the time), after I compose and play my ass off I just need to have someone else mix it (or sweeten it), or do a bit of a sound design... I'd love to be able to do it all but my day is only 24h long.

VladimirDimitrievich & D-Fusion huge thanks for the comments. I should mention 2 things..

- D-Fusion, a good tip I find is to sample bass drums from tracks you like and layer 2 (one with good bass response and one with good high and midrange response) :D I have given up on creating good bass drums with synths, I can't get it to work I'm afraid. I had done this on my previous EP and I think the sampled stuff sounds a lot better :)
- VladimirDimitrievich I know what you mean about the compressor, I did slam this down significantly and would you believe, some commercial tracks I have here are still louder ? lol I will definitely try it with a little less compression though :D

Cheers Guys
