I just got it and it sounds great. It might not have every articulation that Prominy boasts, but it is certainly worth the asked price.
Another reason to consider getting Direct Guitar is Andrea's support. He's one of the most patient and helpful devs I had the pleasure of dealing with.

I'm kinda interested how you created the "power chord" guitars (video demo). Were they recorded with palm mutes and then via the Kontakt Scripting engine triggered that they create that fast "up/down" strumming?
I didn't like the demo per se (too fake IMO, maybe an other amp would have helped), but I really liked the idea. Also the divebomb was impressive.
However more impressive was the "Pink Floyd" demo. WOHA... If MusicLab wouldn't take that long for RG-E and I had the money, I'd so get that samplepack without hesitating!
(I guess all the bends were done with the pitchbend, but what about the vibrato? Modwheel? Guess Kontakt is the best choice for this pack after all)

Hi Compyfox,
Thank you for your opinion about DirectGuitar.
The power chords are palm mutes samples plus clean samples at 127 Velocity layers. I used filters and I put some notes and noises samples in note off.
I made pink floyd solo playing the notes and then writing the pitch bend and the modulation step by step in the Apple logic midi editor.
I'm thinking to upload the pink floyd solo in midifile format...someone is interested in it?
Andrea

Hm... that pitchbend sounds like it was a lot of work. If the MIDI works with the free jazz guitar from your page, I'd love to take a look at it.
Another question for you, is there maybe a bass guitar (clean) included? What about fingered guitar play or is most of the material done with plektri only?
And... the "free" and "demo" samples didn't include vibrato. Is there natural vibrato recorded or can I control it somehow with a modwheel? Just curious.

Yes it was a lot of work!
Yes sure, I tested several midifile for guitar and they play very good.
I'm thinking to create DirectBass, probably next month. All the pickup positions are recorded with plektry only.
The free demo doesn't includes any vibrato. In the full version you can control the vibrato with the modwheel
Ciao
