Surprised it hasn't come up more: Kontakt has been in virtually every song I've written since 2002. If they ever work out the bugs, there will be no threat of anything else ever being favourite.

Definately agree with Kontakt. I use 1.5.3 because it is rocksolid.bduffy wrote:Surprised it hasn't come up more: Kontakt has been in virtually every song I've written since 2002. If they ever work out the bugs, there will be no threat of anything else ever being favourite.

I don't have one at the moment
It used to be Vanguard - so easy and flexible with a great sound.
Been looking for a year for something to move up to, but nothing's quite hit my sweet spot yet.

Yeah! Me too. Still don't trust v2.whatever, and I can't open my old/current projects with it!telephone wrote:Definately agree with Kontakt. EDIT: Actually, I wouldn't say 1.5.3 is rock-solid, I get weird GUI issues and they removed features from 1.0 that they never put back in. But v2 is a nightmare.

timewarp arp 2600, just, because like the sounds are really phat and i like to twiddle my knob endlessly to atonal drones that have endless colour and variety. It's a dirty bitch.

impOSCar... no competition.
It has perfect character for my taste and the basses are really defining, clean and ballsy. It's sounds fit in the mix and whatever I do with it, it usually does the job just right. It is quick and simple to use and still has that real diversity. The only thing missing is oscillator sync, but I can use other synths for those jobs...

CamelSpace. Not really an instrument, per se, but what makes my VIs work for me is CamelSpace. Love the trance gate, and it has concise, tempo-synced controls for delay, LFO/filter, autopanner, flanger and reverb all in one place. Easy easy easy to add life and motion to any instrument.

hard to disagreecptgone wrote:PJ Harvey.
I know she's not a VST instrument, strictly speaking, but that's kinda irrelevant when you look into her eyes.
whenever she's not around (with cptgone it seems), I resort to adxhip. Nothing has quite the same character.

V-Station (For hard and punchy bass & Lead lines).
Rob Papen Blue (For all kind of sounds including FX).
Toxic III (FM Programming).
Zerovector (for those Überfat Trance sounds).
Sorry but i could'nt name only one since i love them all
The most usefull of them are V-Station and Blue since they just sits well in a mix

Kontakt 1.5.3 does all the things i want a sampler to do. That scripting madness is nothing for me. Just give me a sampler with a lot modulation options and i can carefully craft instruments. Totally. Let's go back to 1.2.1. I'd love to have 1.2.1 with working disk streaming, when you could still use the right-click to zoom and input worked perfectly in Cubase. Alas, progress rolls on....telephone wrote:Kontakt 1.5.3 does all the things i want a sampler to do. That scripting madness is nothing for me.
