Can I get FL express for $49 to check this out -- and get the free samples from sample fusion? a couple more.
skale is nice too. has a linux version, and that is a good thing in my book.
cheesetracker is a solid one, linux only as far as i remember.
as far as FL Buzzmachine support: ther are some nice effects but it doesn't suport Buzz generators

Another vote for RENOISE!
It can do 90% of what all the other music apps on earth can do, and it is uber-efficient, with an uber-simple & intuitive interface. I especially like the "tab" concept of the GUI, as well as the fact that its GUI is *somewhat* modifiable, if only in a cosmetic sense (i.e., colors and texture only.)
Works wonders for inspiration!
It has 3 major limitations, though, and some other minor ones I did not list, which prevent it from being the "ONLY" software you'd ever need...:
1. Sheet music view (preferably in addition to tracker view)
2. Mixer view
3. "Markers" (for synchronizing film-composition and on-screen action)
With a few improvements, it would make most if not all other host sequencer apps redundant and obsolete!

shiii.... djdorian are you promoting renoise ? ehe ehe hee..
yep its cool , but i prefer madtracker, way faster loading than renoise, "deals" with vst's like for ex: eXT in terms of you can have a huge list of plugins , doesn't matter it will load in 3,4 secs (renoise even takes some time to sutdown ).
the only neg. thing i see in madtracker is not having "undo" (and its seems development will stop for a while..)
there's also berotracker..
other thing with renoise is ..i can't see how, or if its possible to import IT files, i load them but they don't play correct or they aren't compatible..

its as fast as IT2 and can be popped onto many hosts with out crash!
its practically IT3 imho, in the respect that we can send midi out to hosts and use vsti's and vst's and the host of our choice

I stopt using buzz a few years ago because it was not stable enough on my pc Hopefully the buzzclone work better, will try that this evening and load up my old buzz songs
