A heavyweight wishlist there Admiral and well thought out too.

- MTC or similar would be good but at presen I have no idea if this is doable with my current tools. Mayve for V2

- You can run as many PRRs as you like just make sure each has diffrerent .wav names (at least I think so as I haven't tried it)

- Pause on silence could really mess up a great Goerge Benson style solo

Just took PreRoll Recorder for a test drive in Phrazor. Does what the man said it would...

What a great productivity and/or creativity type tool. This is perfect for someone like me who mostly just tries to manipulate strange sounds and really wierd noises...my "songs" are usually just an excuse to show off an effect or mixing technique. Of course, I can't help it if every so often something comes out actually sounding musical. Guess it wouldn't hurt to capture some of that stuff, too...

Yeah, I don't know much about wav format myself without doing some research. So not even sure there's a way. The zero fill method would work though, but then you've got much longer files, possibly, and of varying unpredictable lengths.

And of course if the transport isn't moving, then you're nowhere, and sync doesn't matter (though BEAT sync would still be nice... like if it cut files to start on PPQs!!!! Now THERE you go!

I'll test this for you. Cuz if it's worth doing in one place, it's worth doing all over the place!

Heh, yes, and actually the splice could be harder to reassemble in a silent bit than a loud bit where you can match up the waveforms. (Again, all depends on sync-ability)

Still, I TOTALLY get what you made this for and am looking forward to running it through it's paces.

Windsor eh? The Canadian town that's just south of Motown! Go figure...!

And now I'm a Car salesman - hows about irony.

I have thought quite a bit on lining up/syncing pre rolled audio with a project and for the moment think that it's best to let those things get done by dedicated apps or hosts like Live that specialize in doing scary things to audio.

I've found trying to line a non-rythmic source, like vocals, up to a track without a time reference, to be one of those bottomless pit things. You just tweak it and tweak it forvever and never feel it's right.

Just a suggestion though. Your idea's still super-valuable. I'd rather have a one in a million accidental fluke-take be out of sync, than not have capped it at all.

here's a thought...how about a 'hotkey' for marking places in the recording. That way instead of stopping the recorder when you think you got something you just put a marker in and keep jamming and add more markers as needed, later you can find those part instantly...so far I'm impressed...

Firstly I gotta say a BIG THANKS to all the PreRoll Rec purchasers (and some SynthStudio Packs too) over the last couple of days

. I'm kinda floored. Sorry for the delay but now all links are posted.

Those of you who know me from SSP will know of my days that I can and can't post (see my web sit on the about me page). I always reply but over my weekend I can be away from my poota whist dancing Rockabilly - about the closest I get to a guitar these days and probably best for all.

Interesting idea Hink. I was thinking PRR might be most powerful when the user is less actively aware of it. That and I don't think I have the tools etc to put markers in wav files. Maybe a V2 thing...

I have been doing a bit of thinking on the sync issues raised above and I'm not entirely sure that, while they sound attractive and I had thought on them before release, they would be af much real use because I assume that a fair abount of the saves that PRR makes will be before you have even pressed record and so those takes will be 'rubato'. I think that then Live etc will be your best way to get em back into timing of your choice. Or play to their time because they were inspired. I will continue to think on this tho...

"Poésie" means "poetry". I never heard about a band called "Poésie Noire", so I Googled it ... and shame on me

! They are not French, they are Belgian - and so am I - (although I prefer to be a citizen of Earth). "Poésie Noire won the Belgian rock contest Breekend in 1985". Check http://www.poesienoire.com/. So we both learned something thanks to PRR !
