Hi,
I have a very simple request but have a deadline tonight ...
I need to find a sample of breaking wood to support a shortfilm (a woden post breaks and falls down).
Any advise where I can find one. I've look through everything I have and searched the web, but can't seem to find any.
Thanks in advance.

If you're still in need of a solution, you can make your own SFX here by using a hammer (use the widest/broadest surface possible on the hammer to strike with) and a *fresh* head of refrigerated lettuce. Make sure you get the mic close enough to capture the "whump" of the impact but far enough back that your mic doesn't get sprayed with water. Done correctly, this can also get you some interesting punching sounds if you're making a martial arts film.
Bonus: you have the beginnings of a salad for when you're through.
Best of luck,

I thought they cracked celery for those sounds.
Even if the piano player can't play, keep the party going.
