These were all recorded outside. Mostly the focus is on percussion type sounds.

There are samples of variations on breaking twigs, throwing a baby zapato across the stereo field, playing a propane tank, and mic cable anomaly sounds. The samples were recorded in stereo with equitek 100 and 300 mics. The mics were plugged into a 1616m sound-card recording into cubase at 24 44.1khz.

----Weird stuff, thanks again :) I could've used some longer single hits on the propane tank, get some ringing out going on, but I time stretched some of them and got a couple mean kicks and some kinda ethnic sounding tom drum range hits. The bad cable stuff was umm, kinda harsh, but interesting :hihi:

thinking earlier today what i'm missing are the massive metal object sounds of 80's industrial eg. twitch and foetus.. what with all your special gear, think you can book a session at a local triphammer??
you come and go, you come and go. amitabha neither a follower nor a leader be tagore "where roads are made i lose my way" where there is certainty, consideration is absent.

Yesterday I was thinking, I should be sampling all the time since I got all this equipment for that purpose. So I decided I would just take my stuff out on the deck and record whatever happened. The propane tank is used for the BBQ, but I have spares I can bring into my room where I can isolate the sound. I'll be doing more stuff with propane tanks in the future so you can lok forward to some longer single hits. the cable going bad are my personal favorites. Thanks for checking it out.

If I can find one locally...that would be a sound I want too. Thanks for the idea.

A nice selection there. Some longer single hits would be most appreciated. :tu:

The few 'cable going bad' are gonna be interesting to f**k around with. They confused the hell out of me to begin with though. I thought my new soundcard was playing up again. :dog:

I would like to hear what the sound of an exploding propanetank! could you make it go boom?

Post

Thanks for these and all your other samples, G_J !

What is a baby zapato anyway...some kind of rodent?
Pithy apothegm goeth here...

Thanks for the comments Wire Kiss, snooky, and Frank. Sorry about the confusion Frank, hope it did not cause too much anguish. I would also like to hear an exploding propane tank, but as of this instant I don't have a safe way of making that happen. A zapato in Spanish = shoe, so baby shoe.

I'm kind of disappointed actually. I had visions of you hurling small animals around. Can we have a kitten percussion set next time?

(Just kidding!) :D

Actually you gave me an idea that doesn't involve hurting kittens.

I can't find the sample of the explosion at the end of the recording session... :-o

Tx and cheers, be careful

Always careful.

You're welcome max :)

The cable samples should come with a warning ;) - but parts of them are good for making single cycle loops for vsti instruments.

I like the gate ones better Genetic :)
