Your comments on the Gold Refill

I would love to hear how you're using it? I have ST2.1 but couldn't use it just yet because it's not UB. Same goes with SS2 and Miroslav.

I know that it's been reworked with the "cominator" in mind. How does that play? Sound quality...usaibility...etc.

Finally, I'd like to say that I love Reason and rewireing it to Live. I'm hoping that this Gold Refill package will expand my choice of sounds by ten folds!

More like 20 fold. Sonic Refill Gold is our best selling refill on www.esoundz.com and ironically it is more expensive that Reason itself. Although, it IS 20 refills that would otherwise cost over a grand. All together is has over 8,000 sounds which is technically the largest sound workstation SR has ever made! For a lot of Reason users it is indespensable as a goto tool. A lot of pros use it. Dr. Dre, Herbie Hancock and they're using it on the Letterman show now as well because they do so many cover tunes that you never know what sound you may need and Anton is the one who brought it up that the Sonic Refills are real handy for situations like that.

The Combinators are really cool and fun. We put a lot of effort into these and the Miroslav Refill Gold bundle as well.

Wow, I never knew that, makes me want it even more, I just bought the Miroslav Gold Bundle, (Great Deal btw) and I'll probably buy these sometime in August...

You guys should interview different mainstream producers and get opinions on the refil, it'll probably boost sales even further.

Anyway, to answer your question, the Sonic Refill Gold is used by so many people and I only know of some of the famous artists and producers using it. I learn of more all the time. Black Eyed Peas use it, BT, Sasha and a ton of different DJs use it (I will try to get more names that we've learned use it), the guys from Genesis (like Mike Rutherford) use it, the guys who tour with Beyonce' and Alicia Keys use it... we'll eventually compile an SR artist and producer list on line with quotes and interviews as we expand here. Usually this is done by our distributors and actually if you go on IK's websites you can see a lot of the artists that use SR sounds in general.

Here in the US the Sonic Refills are the top selling refills for Reason 3 in stores like Guitar Center. They are the main refills that Propellerheads promotes on the Prop Shop (they even have their own section). It's really good value for money and useful variety to turn Reason into a full workstation complete with almost any sound you need, if you have the Sonic Refill Gold. I mean, 8,000 sounds is quite a lot!!!! It's overall a very complete library of material to choose from quickly.

Received the Gold bundle along with Miroslav's Refill. Just have to say that it will take me days to just go through the sounds!

I love what you guys did to Miroslav...the combis are very useful. For the time being, I can actually use Miroslav with Reason. Think of the possibility of taking some of the "elements" and combine it with other patches in the Gold Bundle and manipulate it to create some crazy sounds. Looking forward to testing it out.

Yeah it's kind of interesting - these are like the only substantial multi-sample sets for Reason out there today!

Everything in the past by other companies was mainly rex based refills and the like but these are serious business. And it appears that other companies aren't making a lot of new refills any more in general which is a shame cause Reason's such a great program. At least SR gets it though.

I know Squids is a big synth fan and I remember how excited he was about SR doing sounds for Reason years ago when they started in the Refill game. Reason's a great program cause you can experiment so much with it but without some quality soundsets to throw into this CV cuisinart you're hooped.

Actually, a little known fact is that before Reason was even CALLED Reason, Propellerheads came to SR about doing the factory sound bank for it. We talked about it but it didn't happen then. Years later when Reason 2 came out we released the first "Sonic Refill" and when the CEO of Propellerheads heard it he said "Dave, we need to talk!" (ie. he loved it). We've been dedicated to providing Reason users with INSTRUMENTS to play and now we also have Rex Paks as well. I hope that you guys can spread the word about the Miroslav Orchestral Refills because those were a lot of work and the benefit is HUGE for Reason users... I mean, even if you just wanted good Strings the String Ensemble Refill is wonderful! Much more comprehensive than others out there. However, as long as Reason users WANT higher end sounds then we're open to making them. One of the ones in the works is a high end drum refill (based on material from Infinite and Studiophonik... but in Reason).
