I guess my collection of MT en CM CD/s DVD's don't count? And nobody mentioning the Wusik libraries yet?

I would argue that downloadable, reasonably priced sample libraries are only slightly less addictive than crack. (Er, how the heck would I know?? Anyway... on with it.)

Among those I have been unable to resist:

Back in the dim and distant past: loads of SonicImplants drums, guitars, and basses soundfonts
Precisionsound celtic flutes, bolivian panpipes (and the free Koestler Rigoletto 8) )
Sampletekk renaissance flutes
Manytone Ultimate Bass Kit
Chris Hein Warwick bass
Most of the Jamstix drum libraries

Group buys are only slightly less addictive...

Garritan Personal Orchestra
Vintaudio Yamaha C7 / Uprights / Clean Electric Guitars in one fell swoop

Even indroductory offers can be pretty bad...

ArtVista Virtual Grand Piano

How many samples can you actually use? I've downloaded a bunch of free stuff (legal, I think), and have some CM and FM CDs loaded onto my machine. I mean, I must already have gigabytes of samples, and I mostly use VSTis anyway. (Although when I actually need drums, I tend to go for the samples.) How many hours (or years) would it take just to listen to all of the samples you own?

It is addictive though. You always feel like you need to find more.

Is 'Legend of China' any good?

I need a Han ensemble see. Any excuse to unsheath the card :hihi:

Long time I got some SF2 files with my Creative cards. I thought they were decent but I was wrong. Then had some time with Gigasampler but samples weren't easy to get then where I was living (and if some were they were too expansive). Just had Gigapiano and some other smaller sets.

Next sample library what I got is NI Battery. Not bad but I couldn't get good uses for it.

Next was Wusikstation - finally an library (and VST) what I could use more. Lots of very nice presets and a very nice VST too.
DK+ was a very good drum machine/sequencer and I was much happier with it than Dynamo.
Lastly I got Cronox3 but got somewhat dissapointed with it.

Imho in current times there isn't a big need to use that many samples. Except for some acoustic sounds synths of course.

For the price, it's a good value. Not up to Kong Audio's plugins, but a greater variety of instruments at a much lower cost. loopwise.com seems to be the cheapest source.
