hi, does anyone know of one, i specifically want it to be imperfect, i've got decent flutes and stuff but i want a sound reminiscent of a school recital.... (wobbly held notes, and too much breathy attack on some etc)

i've been using a sampled flute that i have "screwed up" a bit but i thought i'd ask around. it doesn't need to be velocity layered or anything special, in fact it would be better if it wasn't.

cheers,

steve

I got a tenor recorder here. If you don't find something apposite I'll get around to recording a recorder for you, blaster. I'm a l33t recorder player.

that would be very cool runny, a couple of octaves note by note played slightly roughly would be very cool.

if i had a recorder i'd do it myself but i don't, so i can't :hihi:

I'll even throw in some multiphonic broken chords (so far as I know I'm the only recorder player on the planet that does this) and toss it on koolkeys site once I stop f**king up my .torrent uploads as a sample pack. Hmm I gotta bust out my friend Tom Blood III's "prepared recorder" again and add some of that, too.

:P

That's pretty l33t indeed.

I rummaged in my recorder collection (everything from bass to gar klein: octave above soprano) and found an old school instrument. I feel like sampling that. It sounds very authentic 2nd grade.

Unfortunateley I have zip experience in making samples. Can either participant in this thread lend me a hand?

Victor.

Hmm, help how?
I also have no experience making samples but my endeavor shall involve:

Code: Select all

an EV N/D267a mic

a Yamaha alto recorder

an embarassingly large amount of experience messing around with fipple flutes

Well, I can make wav files for every note, but it would be neat if someone could turn them into a sound font, with misblown notes at certain velocities and that sort of cuteness.

Victor.

Omdeed, you are correct, sir!

I can't do that, but I'll provide some samples.

Wish I still had my baritone recorder.

i have vics samples which are exactly what i need, the limitations of the instrument are exactly ehat i had in mind. i will do a kontakt and sound font mapping.

however,

please provide what you can runny, really long held notes would be very usefull (10+secs)

and thanks to vic for his help on this, top bloke.

There's a set of penny whistle samples on the SAMPLES page of my website :) wobbly notes and all.
It'd be cool if someone wants to make 'em into a soundfont ...
