I've just started havin a play with this thing because it looks pretty flexible , but the manual is crap...crap...crap

Anyway , some of y'all seasoned pros out there just might be able to help me with what are , very simple questions

1. I see pictures of the loop composer in the manual , but how on earth do i bring it up ?

2. how to i beatslice ? i've managed to slice a loop after a fashion , but the individual hits are cut really badly

3. How do i route each synth , each drumloop etc... to its own channel where i can control the volume , and the effects applied , independantly of each other. At the minute , everything is going to channel 1 , and even if i set things to go to channel 2 , they still end up going through channel 1

4. where do i get an update patch cos the versions i have on CM cds and dvds are close to 2 years old.

5. why are loads of my vsts not appearing in the list ?

I'm pretty much stuck with muzys at the minute , and i need to persevere with it , but at the minute i feel like launching it , and the pc , through the nearest window.
Please help.

cheers :D

Computer Muzys is dead. Are you on MacOS 9? If not, try CMusic (or LUNA Free).

OK -- i didnt even know muzys was " abandon-ware " , but i've just tried to download luna FREE and when i clicked on the.exe file in the zip i downloaded , it says " user license agreement not found "

 --- why's it asking for that if its supposed to be free ???

Normally i don't give support on CMuzys anymore, but as an exception:

When you create a new composition (via Compose menu->New), then you have the choice between Loop or Song composition.

If you choose Loop Composition, then you'll automatically end up in the Loop Composer ;)
2. how to i beatslice ? i've managed to slice a loop after a fashion , but the individual hits are cut really badly
You can also slice up the groove by yourself in the Wave Labo, and then choose Slice Loop into Program & Part from the DSP Funx menu.

In the Synth Rack, click "Output Routing". Then you can choose the mixer strip for each of the VSTI's outputs :)
5. why are loads of my vsts not appearing in the list ?
Which vsts for example?

Did you add them to the muzys plugin database via the Tools menu->Plugin Manager?

You have to extract the full zip file to a new folder.

You can't run the app from within the zip file itself.

Because it's not because something is free, that you can do with it whatever you want.
For example: you may not sell it.

Muzycian's advice is XLnt - but contains nothing that 2NDMOUSE couldn't have read in the fairly decent documentation already in his possession. He is therefore officially naughty!

More fundamentally, Muzys is *far* from dead. I have just rigged v1.5 (Computer Music magazine's freeware for most of the last decade) to midi-guide GSnap - which is next to impossible in many sequencers / DAWs even now. The musical possibilities offered by Muzys (a freeware institution) are the same now as they have always been: infinite x infinite x infinite (approximately).

Have you tried their successor Mulab :)

Holy thread resurrection Batman! Yes, you really should check out MuLab, since it is from the same developer.
