It's amazing the extreme responses to b2. One thing I did notice. When I first loaded b2, everything sounded totally messed up. I noticed both .dll's for b1 and b2 had the same name. What I did was load separate folders for b1 and b2 and then renamed both .dll's: Sax-o-phunk_b1 and Sax-o-phunk_b2. After this, b2 sounded fantastic. Might be worth checkin' out. Hope this tip works for others.

Those plugins are really amazing. The fact it's made with synthedit makes me jealous, because I never managed to do a proper trumpet myself...
You're a genius.
Here is my humble contribution : a vst utility for those who don't have a breath controler :
Breath_controller.rar
it detects volume and difference between and [a] vowels. you can set both detectors to any midi cc#.
Don't ask much about it, coz i don't wanna hijack this thread.
Just take it or leave it.

I like the sound of this second beta.
anyway, with my mic>cc setup, I find that saxophunk requires muuuuuch more air pressure than milestone. a different (steeper) curve perhaps?

Awesome Guido mate!
Man I am having some total blues fun with this lately!
A future tweak request: Any way to get the growl a bit more 'percussive' sounding? Like from a good dryer reed or similar? Maybe it's an attack thing?
Excellent as it is though!
Thanks & Cheers,
Alex

I'm kinda struggling with how loud the attack is, the frap effect at the beginning of the attack, i tried a velocity limiter and it helped some.
guido already knows i think him godly, just a nit.

Hi, Guido. Thanks a lot for all your plugins.
I was wandering if there is a chance I could use the pitch bend wheel to control expression, as my keyboard doesn't have a mod wheel :'(

My sentiments exactly.pdxindy wrote:These Trumpet and Sax instruments are the only vst's that make me want to get a PC just to use them. And they show the expressive potential of physical modeling... It is not whether it exactly duplicates a physical instrument as much as it sounds like one, with the nuance, and expression and feeling that is possible with physical instruments. That is what interests me most. Great job on these!!
Actually, one of my biggest pet peeves of synthesizers is when they aren't as expressive as they should be. One of the things that makes Garriton Big Band kick ass is also what makes this synth kick ass: Articulations & expressivity!

Amazing.
BTW ZioKiller, are there any FX applied to the sax track in those 2 demos of famous songs, "Georgia" and "Come Together"?
Also, how easy/intuitive/fast is it to program the articulations?

I've played everything in realtime, using the breath controller and the pitch and mod wheels. The only fx applied is reverb.

Zio, would you consider making a PM wind VSTi which has no particular relationship with a real-life instrument, that has controls assignable to any midi CC and some ability to control the parameters of the PM in real-time? I'd really like to be able to control the actual physical model, the pipe's length, the growl's parameters and whatnot, as I'm already a saxophone player but would like to experiment in making a VSTi somehow create the lovely reed multiphonics a la Bruno Bartollozzi.
I realize this is a very strange request but I've no idea if enabling a GUI-less version of your PM that simply allows the user to control the physical model itself would be a tiny or huge amount of effort but it's something I'd really like to experiment with so I thought I'd ask.
In a second line of thought I'd like to thank you for not only your 2 wonderful betas thus far but for potentially reinvigorating the use of wind controllers! We need more non-keyboard midi tools before this VSTi-based music revolution can really mature.
