Great site all,
Just joined this site but have been lurking for some time.
I just purchased a few sample modules for my sampletank software V2.1,Expansion tank (Vintage voltage, Acoustic drums, and Guitar collection) I work with midi files that i have collected over the years and resample them using just the standard GM map for backing tracks to play guitar with, My question is the acoustic drum package stated it had I-map and GM samples but when I use a set from within Sampletank (channel 10) the drum parts are not mapping correctly, I have never worked with I-map before,I have always let Gm map do its thing. I cant seem to figure out why this is doing that, the other two modules work perfect.
Thanks
Brent

IMap and GM are not compatible.
The GM map is documented here and the IMap map is documented here (picture here). Some differences:
C2 (48) - IMap kick hard, GM high-mid tom
C3 (60) - IMap crash 1, GM high bongo

I-MAP places drums in their most flexible and intuitive position, allowing each of the fingers on both hands independent and coordinated control over the loaded kit. With very little practice, it is possible to lay down complete drum grooves in a single take that have incredible feel and groove.

Thanks Doug , I follow you on the point of the I-map not being compatible and having to sequence from the keyboard.
This is a from sonic's site:
Thanks

I took this when i bought the software that it would work on a standard midifile drum track? There was nothing in the install about options for which one.Expansion Tank: Acoustic Drums I-Map and GM-map acoustic drum kits.
Thanks

My guess is that it installed both, but you can ignore or delete the non-GM kits. I'd expect that if you had, for example "Hot Kit GM" and "Hot Kit IMap" that they use the exact same samples, just mapped different ways, so you're not really losing anything by only using the GM version.brentg wrote:Thanks Doug , I follow you on the point of the I-map not being compatible and having to sequence from the keyboard.

I got down to the bottom of this problem, I wanted to post in case anybody bought this disk (ExpansionTank Acoustic Drums) it seem this was a I-map disk that was converted to include Gm compatable samples also, they are not listed on the disk, On Sonik's site there is a list of the sets on this disk, the ones with (child) next to the the drum set is converted to GM , but you must transpose the drum midi track up until it matches the proper zone, a PIA but works.
