I'm asking this because I find RaySpace to be quite grainy when trying to get long unrealistic silky reverb tails, something like Arts Acoustic is good at. Is it possible that a reverb like RaySpace is supposed to be used for more realistic applications and remain as transparent as possible? Do you think that a silky non-transparent reverb is best used in moderation while a reverb like RaySpace is to be used in more realistic situations thereby proving RaySpace to actually be a good reverb?

I have a problem with the demo, can't even demo it. It can't even start, it says some error blah blah... talking of enjoyment, I don't enjoy having errors :D and I have a bunch of plugins working without those.

Could be he's using SSE2 and I have an AthlonXP? ...

the big plus of rayspace imo is the fact that the tail has a very neutral ,clean and transparent character.
that's avoiding unwanted colorization of the source.
i use it mostly in situations where i need a natural sounding reverb.for this purpose
it's in my opinions one of the best tools i ever heard.
if you want a 80ties lexi sound it's shurely not the rigth thing.
but if you deal with acoustic instruments that should sound as natural as possible,
guitar,vocals(nobody wants a 80ties lexy vox sound today),than rayspace is imo a
very usefull solution.
for lexisound take AAreverb (sligtly metallic for my ears)or Sonic flavour R66
(not natural at all,but interresting "weird" modulation"
or Sonic Timeworks ReverbX(also good plate sounds,i got better Results for vox than with SIR( EMT250 32bit UAD1 plate 32bit)impulses.
another very good freeware plug for vocalreverb imo is Nusofting Reverbering
(very simple and no predelay section, you will need a separate delay plug to work with
predelay, but the tail is very smooth (and not metallic sounding)

Rayspace is fun. Except that I don't use it much because I couldn't put it in my 'reverbs' folder, but hat to put it in the vst root folder... So I never find it when I need a reverb :s
