Anyhow, for AIM, I use the Gaim multi-protocol client, which might be the one that you tried and hated.. I don't even know if there is a real AOL-supported AIM client for Linux because I use MSN, Yahoo, AIM, ICQ, and IRC, and so using Gaim is good for me, as it does all five of them.
