Possible to record knob twiddles in Cubase VST 5 ?

Recently I'm using my old VST 5 on an ancient P3 800 more and more (because the main DAW is outside in the garage and I quite like noodling away with my 5 year old son asleep in the same room).

Sticking to VST 5 , Reason 2.5 and a few extra VST plugins.

Actually it's quite liberating and creative for me (done more in a few weeks than in months "outside").

Anyway, does anyone know if it's possible to record knob twiddles (via external controller) of VSTi parameters into the arrangement in VST 5 ?

Can these then be graphically edited ?

Also, is it possible for externally controlled knob twiddles of VST mixer parameters ?

I know you can record mouse-related twiddles....
