Last week we did a feature on free synths that got a lot of positive feedback. This week we went through some free effects. You can find us on iTunes by searching "gearwire" in the podcast search or you can find it here:

Let us know what you think.

First of all, the video doesn't work.
And I know you got my mail regarding the "equivalents list" and the "C64 synth" correction - is it included in the podcast?

And yeah, an RSS link would really be handy. ;)

EDIT:
Just listened to it. Nice show, however I'd say that dblue Glitch is as classic as Reversinator and the SmartElectronix stuff.

Also, the video link is typed wrong. You can watch the video here:
http://www.gearwire.com/mov/Gearwire_Crosstalk_014.mov

(just change the mp3 in the link to mov)

I see you focus on SIR as a free convolution reverb. Perhaps you don't know about Elevayta Convo Boy.

The demo of which (the 'Lite' version) is essentially free (O.K. it's technically donationware - but...).

It operates at half the latency of SIR and features some unique capabilities not found either on SIR or any other convolution reverb up to now.

I actually have heard of Convo Boy and have some of your other plug-ins on my PC and the one in the podcast studio. Since I am such a high volume downloader I actually tend to stray away from plugs marked as 'Lite' or as demos because at some point they may bring up a "please register" dialog which I would rather not deal with. Just sort of a matter of practice for me.

I will check out the plug for sure and perhaps we will check it out in a future episode.

I checked the #013 video last night and found it quite amusing and enjoyable, it was fun to see you guys joking around. My main criticism would be that while you were demo'ing some of the plugins, the volume out of the demo machine was very low which made it difficult to actually hear what was going on. Other than that, pretty cool stuff.

I'll check out #014 in a little while here.

Nice little videos. Who are the three guys hosting it? Thanks for the freebie reviews as well. They should really quash qualms and quippy quibbles (alliterate why don't we) people have about them just because they're free. SWEET!

Interesting videos, thanks for the info..
