Cool
The biggest problem with Beta2 in my opinion is the growl on high notes.
It was very impressive in Beta1 (maybe a little too loud) but completely messed up in Beta2.
In any case I am very happy with Beta1 and I will be a happy camper even if no other better versions surface.

After further playing, b1 definitely sounds better than b2. I played an identical midi sequence with both versions and b1 sounded more authentically like a sax across the entire range of the instrument. Both versions benefited from a low eq bump.

Ahh.... so I am not the only one.... Thank you

I want to do some careful sequencing in a tracker (I'm using Buzz for this, at the moment-Polac VST loader). I can't figure out how to control the vibrato and growl. They aren't normal knobs. Obviously, they are built for a separate MIDI continuous controller. Same problem with the trumpet.

Anyone know how?

guido already knows i think him godly, just a nit.
I found this when playing with my wx5 as well. I thought it was just a settings thing that I needed to tweak, but I can't get rid of it either.

Tony/Ben,

Are you talking about Beta1 or Beta2 here? When I took b1 out for a spin with my WX5, I didn't notice a strong attack - indeed, I was having a hard time getting crisp attacks.

both

Beta1. I haven't had the opportunity to try Beta2 yet.
My main tools: Kontakt, Omnisphere, Samplemodeling + Audio Modeling. Unify = godsend. Tari's libraries also rock.

I've only tried beta1 so far, but I have the impression that the noise is too loud, aven at the minum setting; what do you other think about this?

I set breath at minimum and it's OK for me.
On Beta2 it is too quite.
It makes the whole thing sound fake.(more organ like, not saxophone)

Bump?

IMHO it doesn't sound anywhere near a real sax, and I know what I'm talking about.
But it sounds as good as some VLm patches , if you don't have the turbo chip.
So a big hats off for the developper !

it's supposed to be a tenor-sax, though, i think. are you aware of that, or is that what makes you think that of its sound? not bitching, just curious. i am not very knowledgeable when it comes to this stuff. it doess sound like some kind of sax-like instrument, to me, though, rather than purely synthetic... good enough for me. ;)
