Until you reformat harddrive and don't install the direct x plugins exactly in the same path?AllenPOPO wrote:but thats what i was saying...if you have waves and wanna use them in ext, just get direct x wrapper, and use direct x versions, i hear that works greatDuX wrote:Hmmmm I wasn't aware of eXT not saving Waveshell settings... that's a serious issue which renders Waves in eXT unusable, yep.
I don't know if this is fixed now. Used to be a problem though.
But you could backup the config files for the wrapper to save the paths.

Cant say that its high priority, how hard is it to write a "normal" VST anyway...

Waves will not change their policy about that, their bundles are too big with lots of plugins, i suspect also that the userbase would not be happy. In most hosts that makes a first sort out and invade not the plugin directory.

I can imagine that it might be easier and more worth while to just add DX support... That would not only let Waves run but also others. Doesn't sound like it will happen either way.

If anything, I could make a VST plugin that turns the waveshell dll into a "normal" VST (tiny wrapper)...but XT2 is first priority...unless the majority of xt users want me to do it?
cheers

I dont think many EXT users have Waves tho. But just because of that, we cant ignore the ones that DO have 'em.
My vote : Finish EXT2 FIRST, then get on to the Waves problem.

I agree nevertheless that XT2 is top priority but as soon as this would be first class
deal?
