Been looking into getting a "mastering" plug. Been digging around...any comments on these 2 plugs?

Ozone is UB and T-Racks 24 is also UB. They're about the same price. They seems to do just about the same things.

1. How easy is it to operate?
2. How's the pre-sets?
3. CUP usage.

Thanks for any comments or suggestions.

Ozone to me has a cleaner sound and offers more features then T-racks.

Thanks for the quick reply. :)

Ozone can also be used as a vst within your host program, t-racks 24 i believe is stand-alone only.

Just for information, Ozone 4 and T-RackS 2 are on the way, for an announcement at 2007 Winter NAMM or Musikmesse 2007.

I'm not joking, I got confirmation from developers of iZotope and IK Multimedia two weeks ago.

Finally they replied to my mails :P, just need to wait.

Personaly I prefer the sound of T-RackS, so I'll say to you to buy T-RackS now and cross-grade when the version 2 will be released.

Do they offer upgrade paths?

As far as I know, nothing from IK is Universal Binary -- yet. Ozone is UB already.

I think yes, like they did with Ozone 2 to 3, and like IK Multimedia do with their others products.

Here are the replies I got :
IK Multimedia wrote:Hello Julien,

I am unsure of the exact details at this time, but I have heard from our development department that a new version of T-Racks will be released sometime in the coming months.
iZotope wrote:Hi Julien,

We are definitely planning on an Ozone 4. The Ozone team is still looking for ideas and suggestions for things we can put into it, so if there's something specific you really want to see in Ozone 4 let me know, and I'll send them a feature request.

T-Racks seems to have a more distinct sound than Ozone, sometimes described as more analog or warmer. Ozone is cleaner, and gives you more sophisticated controls than T-racks. Ozone, though, is an all in one VST, and T-racks can be used in individual components. I use T-racks when I am working more with real instruments like guitar tracks, and ozone when I am doing more electronic music.

My experience with both companies is that Izotope updates their products faster and have much better customer support.

Yes but the vst version of t-racks cost more then 24 wich i think is stand-alone only. The t-racks plugin suit costs more then Ozone and would make Ozone the cheaper buy.But t-racks 24 costs the same as Ozone.

+1 n ozone and all izotope stuff in general. IMO ozone has a nicer GUI
