recently there was a thread that many seemed pretty positive about the sound of these plugs, and then I remember older threads dissing them.

any audio comparisons?

Im sick of hearing "yea these sound good" or "these are crap with a pretty GUI"

are there any real comparisons with other plugs or UAD or something????

Try the demo, maybe? I think it works for two weeks or so.
I tried it a while back, and at first I was only sort of impressed, but once I started getting more serious with trying settings specific to the sounds I was effecting, I realized how good they could be. It's definitely not a "use the presets" bundle. And I think the extreme settings didn't sound so good, if I remember right. But it added plenty of pleasing tube-like feel at more moderate settings.
I think their new Analog bundle is more all-purpose, and BlueTubes is more for the coloration. I'll probably end up getting both bundles eventually.
I realize this isn't any side-by-side comparison, but I thought I'd throw in my opinion. I've seen Nomad plugins discussed here and there, and the opinions differ quite a bit. I don't blame you for starting another thread! And for what it's worth. when I used the demos on my Mac, the Pace protection didn't seem to make a bit of difference to my system, performance-wise or otherwise. Though I'd rather use simple serial-number software, at this point I'll just shrug and go back to tweaking sounds...

The 9th August (tomorrow) is the last day to sign up for the Logic Users Group bulk buy of PSP stuff. You can get the total pack of everything for $499 - normally around $1700. Amazing deal - and no iLock required for most plugs. Too tempting for me ...

about blue tubes and all other stuff it's "try demo and decide urself" u can search infinitely those threads where 50% will say yay and 50% gay.. and if u can't hear the differece.. well flip a coin

I'm just saying that before you pay $499 for a bunch of plugins that are not highly regarded by professionals, you can buy all the PSP stuff today only for $499, and have the stuff that is being used to make records.

Normally the total pack is $999 - and if you buy them all seperately it's around $1700.

But you would have to move fast.

IMO, they have a fantasticaly dark sound. I'm not sure what it is exactly, but I love them. The PACE is the only reason to stay away from them.

The only comparison i would make would be PSP Vintage Warmer.

Not dramatically different but maybe a little warmer.

Personally I like these plugs, they do sound good for some things.

They have a nice blue look thats all

Go for the UAD, some things from IK Multimedia (like T-Racks) or the well known stuff from Kjaerhus...
Plugins from Nomad Factory are not a must have (IMHO).

IMHO no plugin is a must have. It's all a matter of personal choice.

the blue tubes "pultec"EQ emulations are pretty good imo.not for drastic precise corrections,but for a shine on your vocals,for example or acoustic git.and the phasor is one of the best i know in the plug in world ,sounds very analog.sold my old "mutron" cause of that.
personally i like also the delay. specially the "old emulations. i can get somekind of
sounds like from my old "ibanez analogdelay " floorpedal from late 7ties with it. but also the nomad free bundle sounds very good,specially
for guitarwork. check their site for downloading the free bundle.

I second that.
The plugs I use in every project are Kjaerhus, TRacks and UAD (reverbs)

ok, for the last time. Blue tubes? yay or nay.
