I did like 30+ presets for Nitro. It's really not that difficult. Sit down with the manual, and you should be able to get your head wrapped around it pretty quickly. I had to wrap my head around it with the "beta" manual. That was... interesting.

Once you understand the routing, it's a piece of cake.

Not sure if you have already made the decision but...I spent a good deal of time comparing Nitro, CamelPhat and CamelSpace and came away with the impression that Nitro is a very high quality plug and sounds great but quite simply does not have the variety of features that are present in CamelSpace and CamelPhat. Price wise I think the Camel plugs are better value as well.

I have both Camel plugs. Camel audio have provided plenty of additional free presets as well. I think just very recently a free preset bundle was given away. At least 2 sets have been given away to Camel users since the two Camel plugs came out, so there is plenty to keep you busy.

Nitro has an excellent set as well, but personally I just think the combined feature set of the Camel plugs really offers much more creatively that Nitro, as good as it is.

From playing with CP already I know I love it. CS I'm not so sure of - I need to demo it more to work out how and where I wold use it. But your point is a good one - given the price too it is more fair to compare the bundle in order to make a decision.

From comments here it looks like Camel is more likely to suit me. Thanks again!

sorry if this is going to hurt your brain but have you looked at quadfromage from Ohm Force? I went through hell trying to pick a filter and that was my first choice. It was very hard though. I now own Quadfromage and the Nitro they are both so different that it is hard to think that they are both "filter" vst's.

I also have all 3 . . . oh I'm special . . . and they're pretty different. I use Phat on every single rock project, it should be in my template. Space and nitro I use whenever I can get away with it . . . I don't tend to use them for subtle stuff, have other plugins for that.

If I had to pick, I'd get the camel plugs before nitro, cause there's nothing in nitro that can do what phat does.

Has anyone here tried Audio Damage's Ronin - is it another serious alternative to consider? It seems to combine delays X2 with filters X2.

If you're looking for alternatives along the same lines you should try THIS which is a very flexible but easy to use multi-effect, which gives you 7 effects in a configurable signal path. And it's very reasonably priced at $60
