I don't get this whole thread.

Pretty obvious that reg'd users DO NOT D-LOAD THE DEMO... :|

Never had a problem -- Power on Torben & big thanks for your contributions to the Katrina Relief CD and ALL your excellent plugs mate -- especially GAG!!! ;)

Cheers,

I'd thought I'd seen it all until this thread! :-o

Interesting Sunday morning read. As to backups,I burn all my purchased software + invoices + keys on to DVD and keep a copy in a safe deposit box at the bank. It's inexpensive and they fit right in with my legal documents.. if my place burns down, I'm not totally screwed.

I'm a happy Kjaerhus golden series owner (and I use the classic series as well) - no complaints here!

I already said that with the gold series you download the demo and activate them with a reg file.

yes, and it's a very common practice amongst vst-developers that they let you register the demo-version (i.e. there's just one .dll)

Didn't you guys read how Torben just explained his stance on the matter? Makes perfect sense.

I'd make a copy of your place as well... it can't be good when the software you use is more valauable then the place you live in ;)

I gotta agree here.... even if it wouldn't make sense (which it does) - if the dev wants to use two dll's it's his decision... you won't need two dll's (at leats not at the same time)

and now don't say but when you try the demo and then want the real thing - you don't wanna install another dll :hihi:

I live in a microscopic studio apartment, if the place burns down it's no big deal (well, except for finding a new place to live, replacing the computer, etc.)! :hihi:

I burn off old audio projects and store 'em offsite too. I blame it on paranoia and hearing too many stories of stolen computers and DVDs! :-o :help:

Hilariously enough, I have sunk more than the equivalent of a couple of months rent into my music software!! :help:
