Has anyone notified the Tracktioneers about this utility? It seems Tracktion has a problem loading the waveshell.dll as well.

hi polac, a bit off topic:
it works as it should, it creates the dll's as desired, but logic pc 5.5.1 doesn't see them ...
however, logic works with the originals, but not too stable, that's why i thought i'd try it out, to get rid of the shell, as i assume that it is only the shell that causes the instability ...
any ideas?

Hmm, it should work in Logic too. Did you create the dlls via command prompt with a relative path to the waveshell.dll, something like this:

shell2vst "vstplugins\waveshell.dll"

This is causing some trouble, but only with the earlier versions of shell2vst.exe, I uploaded a fixed version yesterday. It also fixes the no gui problem with some of the waveshells.

Post

ok:
the waveshell is in the dir c\programs\emagic\logic 5.5.1\vstplugins\waves

1. i placed the shell2vst.exe into that directory.
2. i draged the waveshell onto the shell2vst.exe.
3. the shell2vst.exe created a folder with all dll's in it.
4. i removed the waveshell
5. i started logic.
6. the plugins didn't show up, not even the surrounding folder.
7. only a few cfg's were created when logic booted ...

using the diamond bundle 5.0 that is.

another question:
i am thinking of buying the new g4000 channel of waves, if this works good with shell2vst.
will it work with different waveshells at a time (as over 5.0 waves doesn't support logic anymore)?
thanks for your help!

put waveshell.dll into c\programs\emagic\logic 5.5.1\vstplugins dir . also latest shell2vst.exe then delete your waves folder in vstpluginsdir

drag shell on exe . a folder called waves with all plugins will be generated. now launch logic and all will work :)

PS: dont delete the waveshell . its still needed for the wrapping

PS2: shell2vst works with ALL waveshells and you can use them in logic :)
