hahhaha. I didn't get it at first... so it's a downgrade, seeing as they skipped v4 long a go, went to five, and then to SiX.

seems like their logic to move to 4 now. I'm not really looking forward to downgrade to this one.

Looks like the basics are identical, aparat from a few cosmetic updates on GUI. same ol' steinberg style slap-on features all over the place though. Probably not worth the price, if one has a well functioning SX3 already.
Well, dude, no one is going to force feed it on you... probably would be the biggest waste of code in history anyway. :hihi: :hihi:

i'm still using SX2 and i'd like to upgrade, if we get the following:
- easy sidechaining,
- per clip FX,
- more flexible FX routing

that Control Room screen looks hot though - seems to allow a lot more routing options :D

Well, having thought through the implications of the screen-shots, I'm bored already...

When I was quite a young boy, my big sister had a pet cat. I wanted a pet cat... but she actually got one :(

Reading the "Ladybird Book of Pets" I discovered that if I poured a bowl of washing up water on the garden, worms would surface and I could make a wormery. I didn't really have the right tools for the job, but set to it using a spare biscuit tin. I filled up my tin with soil, some greenery for food, pierced a few pin-prick holes in the lid, and filled it with as many worms as were unfortunate enough to wiggle their way up to the surface...

Deciding to check up on how they were getting along a few days later, I popped open the lid and found.... a congealed blob in the middle of the tin. Yeuk! Instead of a thriving little community of love, all that remained was something that resembled a soggy dog turd.

Stay with me, because this is actually going someplace!

It seems to me that with each update now, we're simply seeing the major players copy each other to a point where all the sequencers look, feel and work the same way. Not only that, but they have congealed into the proverbial dog turd in my charming little tale.

The screenshots of Cubase 4 look just the same as Sonar 5, with its blue/grey background and tabbed browser. Throw in some MOTU-esque instruments (DP5 also looked identical to all the others  !), KORE's sound browser, and a REAKTOR-like routing page that might make Cubase's sprawling routing complexity more easily understandable to somebody with a PhD in nuclear physics, and what do you have? - a bloated update totally devoid of any single creative original idea.

Surely isn't there more than this... :help:

I'm sure it won't be a huge departure from SX 3, but what Kingston says sounds promising; they needed to overhaul the engine. I've been happy with all the updates so far, I'll be going for this (eventually, I just got SX 3! )

Actually, it looks like the might've nabbed Boris to do the GUI's! I agree: kind of logic-looking for sure. Looks nice!

Well, dickhead, you take good care of things already by putting down a thing you didn't try but already loath.
What a f**king asshole!!! :idiot:

BTW i enjoy being a fanboy, do you enjoy being a hater, troll? :hail:

 I should not feed them, sorry all!

The things I want most in SX4/Cubase4 or whatever it is called can not really be told in screen shots:

1. 64 bit version
2. True side chaining

6. Better handling of generic remote.
7. Better handling of plugs and presets.
