I looked for help on this but came up dry :(

Could someone please walk me through setting up Liveslice to automate plugins on it's output?
I noticed Live was not included in the docs where it explains how to setup your host app. Live is the only host I'm using at the moment, so I'm stuck. I love this plugin and I just want to get more use out of it's capabilities. Thanks in advance.

Okay, now I see why I did not get a reply yet. I read the post below about external effects, so I just purchased energyXT. I still have not recieved the liscense for it, but that is a another issue. Can I use energyXT inside of Live to send midi to another effect on the same track? I really need some instructions for dummies to get this to work. Can someone please tell me how this is done. I'll be teaching myself energyXT in the meantime. Thanks.

you'll need to load energy xt as a plugin inside Live, then put both LiveSlice and the external effects inside energy xt, and do all the routing of audio and midi there.
In energy xt there's a file menu in each plugin window with a "CC map" menu item - use that to map the midi CC's to parameters in the effect.

Note that you can save and reload the whole routing stuff as an energy xt file, so you don't have to do the same routing over and over again.

Ahh Yeaahh. I see how this works now. energyXT is amazing! So straight-forward and logical. If it runs cooler on my laptop, maybe I could use it instead of Live? Has anyone made this kind of transition?

I'm crossing my fingers. XT2 is in the works and will have new features that were requested by several users who use Live.
One is a new component called the Live Comp.
If you go to the Energy forums and read the sticky "Truth about XT2", you will see some implementations the Live comp has.

More imoortantly for me is the Arrangement view in Live. It is seamless with cut/copy/paste etc. The workflow with Live's arrangement view is by far the best IMO as far as linear recording is concerned.

As for the Session view, Liveslice can easily replace that with a few additions/improvements here and there. SO with LS and XT2, i can see a very strong possibility of Live collecting dust.

The beauty of this is i would only need ONE license key and i could have my studio in a flash drive :hyper:
