The pics look cool. Does the world really need another DAW? What is different about this one that would make it compelling to get over everything else that is out there already?

Those are a couple of real good questions.

I totally disagree here - does the world really need another one of anything? - I think it's safe to say that the answer is always 'no' - so what's the actual purpose of asking the question at all?

Funny... I would have to disagree with you on that as I think the answer should always be yes. Status quo should never be acceptable. It leads to a culture of mediocrity. If we honestly believed that a culture of mediocrity was acceptable there would be no progress and if we had no progress the we would eventually just fizzle away to nothing.

I think we actually totally agree with each other - for each individual thing the answer is always 'no' but if we would consider this answer relevant then the result would be fatal.

Hence the question is totally irrelevant as answering it has no positive purpose at all... - and that was my point!

i just have to say that it was really a breath of fresh air to see that waste of oxygen finally get called on his trolling. even if it didn't even slow him down, it was nice.

I am quite surprised to hear that disparaging remarks have ever been posted about this program. It may not be right for everyone (what a boring world that would be) but even if I didn't like working with it (which i do) I would find it very hard to criticize such a well thought out and efficient DAW.
1.66 is really a good step forward.
And Zynewayve: thanx for the tip on dragging an effect to the edge of a track to wrap it in a new channel. Nice shortcut there

Don't take this the wrong way but, as this is this seems to be a central paradigm for Podium, you should of done this at the start !

..well there is a video about the heirarchical engine that's been up on the site for over year..

tbh, I picked it up straight away, and never really had any problem with the concept. It's a kind of linearly presented modularity, mapping out a common routing paradigm with a new visualization.
